Structurally, this is fine. You have solid editing and the idea and theme of the story fits with what the contest is about. I would advise against the all telling and no showing writing method. It can become a bad habit.

You stated in your header that this is fiction, yet this reads like Non-fiction for sure. This line in particular, "He realized AI was a double-edged sword, capable of both tremendous good and grave harm." So very true.
