Another strong chapter! I really enjoyed how you captured the struggle of the situation in your writing. The way you described the cold and the exhaustion made me feel like I was right there with you. I could almost feel the freezing air and the relief when you finally reached the warmth. Still amazed at what you had to do, in a place of danger, not a friendly place. Don't tell what else you could have sloughed off. Left some things in the mine to be never found.
