This was such a gripping essay. I didn't see any typos. I understand that turmoil. I feel my parents are/were both mildly autistic also. My father refused chemo and surgery for his cancer in 2023, but he also kept changing his mind about dialysis. It was maddening. I didn't know what to do to help him. He wasn't happy. I realize he never really was happy. There was an underlying sadness about him all his life. My mother similarly. Although, like your mom, I never ever ever saw her cry in all my 52 years of life. Such a hard decision to make when parents' are elderly, and they have no joy. :( BIG HUGS TO YOU. And thank you for having the bravery to write such a meaningful piece. I can see why you placed third in the FanStory contest.

Excellent
Not yet exceptional. When the exceptional rating is reached this is highlighted

Your story is so deeply moving. I like how you showed your personal moments. Like when you sat back and let the past ten months of stress drain away. I admire how you handled the emotions while keeping it grounded in your real experience. You've done an incredible job telling this story with such honesty. Again, this was deeply moving.

This piece is emotionally powerful, well-structured, and deeply human. The complex emotional landscape is handled with care and insight, and the narrative feels complete and meaningful. With very minor adjustments, it is polished and impactful.

Thank you for sharing such a profound and personal story.
