Debi, I love reading poems about winter and the snow. This poem would have gotten my vote for poem of the month. You used beautiful descriptive words and very lovely imagery! Best wishes in the contest. love and blessings, Teri

This is truly a wonderful little poem. I love both the playfulness of it and also the creativity that steps out of the shadows and drapes itself all over the place. I just loved this stanza. It should be immortalized!
The snow will dress all of the trees
The covered branches are the sleeves
One wears a snowy white top hat
Abominable diplomat
Great job sis, thanks for Sharing

That is such a pretty picture, Debi, and your poetic words are another beautiful picture. Double joy! I love to see the snow when it first lays, it's a magical sight. But when it thaws and turns slushy, it is, as you say in your last line, a mess. Lol. Loved it, my friend. Sandra xxx

Hi Sandra, you are always so sweet. Thank you so very much for the awesome comments. Yes, the last verse tells how fast it can change and start getting too much and the wind blows too ending in a blizzard. And then like you said it can melt and turn mushy awfully fast. I appreciate your kind comments so very much, along with your sense of humor.
Love, Deb

It was so lovely and it was flowing so well and you could just feel the gentleness of the falling snow creating a beautiful scenery and then you've got a little punchline at the end that made me laugh.

I have always loved to see the snow, the beauty of the white hooded trees and roofs, the meadows and the lawns. Yet, I detest the cold and chilly winds, the slippery ice that leave wreckage and blood stains. Well done, dear Debi for sharing this lovely piece. Remain blessed, my friend.

Esostine, you are so much fun. I know what you mean about the cold and winds, that is why I wrote that last stanza the way I did. Would you believe today it is minus 23 degrees F. Windchill temp is minus 50 F.
You would not like it here at all in Minnesota. LOL.
Thanks for the great review, my very dear friend. Love, Debi

Abonimable diplomat! How great is that line? A smiled from ear to ear on that one. Here's one for you
All the frozen snow out in the yard
Made Harley Wilson, fall quite hard
All of his money then was spent
On the Emergency room instead of rent

Hey Sweetie, I will give you the highest compliment for your little poem I can. Now keep in mind that it's the highest because my granddaughter used to say it to me all the time. "You Silly Goose!!" That is the first thing I thought of when I read your cute little verse. You silly goose, grandma. Oh how I loved those words.
So thank you. And thanks for the fun review for mine too. You are so much fun. Lotsa love, Debi

I love your descriptions and I do think the snow capped trees look very pretty, but I love the confession in the last verse, that it is now simply a mess. Finished off the pretty with a smile from me, Debi. A lovely presentation,
cheers

Dag nab it! What cartoon chsrector said that?
Anyways dag-nab-it, I read this yesterday and forgot to send a review. I'm getting old!
Though I'm not a big fan of winter any more, I do love a snow fall. It's peaceful, very quiet, pure white, and a great time to walk the dogs.
Fantastic poem, my sweet sister!
Love ya,
John

Hi John, I am going to try this one more time to tell you what I was trying to say. What you said was from Deputy Dawg and I remember so many of these because I love the old time cartoons. Road runner was one of my favorites because we had the classic fastest car around and actually it went, Mee Meep. LOL,. Here are a few others that I loved. Tweety bird said I tat I taw a putty tat. Bugs bunny said What's up doc and Porky pig said that's all folks. Haha. They were such fun. Thanks for the reminders.
Thanks for the awesome review, dear bro. Love ya lots. Debi

This poem did a good job of building up a beautiful winter scene and then quickly switching tone to complain. I love winter and snow, but it can get messy.

Yeah, I laughed at the end too. This is very nice, and I can tell a lot of time and effort went into this. A perfect seasonal poem with a positive theme. It even got through my tough shell. Perfect.

LOL, you know, Lance, they say that shells crack much easier in the cold and snow. Hehe.
Seriously, it did take a while, but it was fun at the same time.
Your kind comments mean an awful lot to me. Thank you so very much for the six stars too. You completely made my evening.
