Well, the fox didn't win this time, he will have to find food somewhere else.
I noticed in you title you don't have an apostrophe before the "s" but in the poem you do.
You have the right amount of syllables for each line.
Congratulations on your wins and good luck with your poem.

Thank you so much for pointing that missing apostrophe out, I've gone in and edited it now. You are the only one who noticed that! Thank you for this lovely review, my friend. I really appreciate it. Warmest hugs, Sandra xx

I think this is a compelling entry to the book. I tried one a while back and I did ok but didn't follow some part of it. Gypsy understood. I'm sure you have it exactly correct but if not, there is no harm. Alex xx

Thank you so much, Alexandra! That was nice of you going back and reading this one. I'm new to these shorties, I'm a long novelist! Lol. But it's good to try new things. I'm glad you liked it. Thanks my friend. :)) Sandra xxx

You could write anything well, my friend! Excuse us as I've been at doc appointments lately. I need a break to relax and we'll read your new novel. So far tests are good but there's something concerning (some heavy mass in my abdomen so it's one test then another. Currently forgetting to make more testing appointments lol it's cold here brrr. 🙃 We talk about timing to read your story that we love.

And please write more poetry!! Wouldn't it be fun to write a poem including your novel and characters. I'd LOVE to read that but, take your time. Hee Hee Have a good day! Alexandra:) xxx

Yay! I am so happy you contributed to the Renga Book. It's an excellent chapter. The poem has the right composition. Beautiful presentation and imagery. Good syllables and connection between lines.

This 5-7-5, Fox Spots Farmer's Gun, has the proper formatting and finds the fox making one of two moves: sacrificing its family for its own life, or providing a ready target to draw away the menace from his nestled crew.

Thank you so much, Bill, for reading my little poem. I wonder which choice he would take? Protect his family? I'd like to think so, but who knows? Thanks, my friend. Warmest hugs, Sandra xx

Now there's some handsome pups, cubs, kits or whatever they are called. It's hard to feel good for the chickens when they looks so darn cute!! Ahhh well, at least the farmer is happy.

Great poem, my friend!!

Happy New Year, and many hugs,
Rhonda

Hi Rhonda! Happy New Year to you too! I sincerely hope it will be a much better year for you and Wayne. How is he? How are you? The prayers and good wishes are still flowing in.

Thank you, dear friend, for taking time out to read and review this little one, and awarding it a gold star. That is so very kind of you. I know you have much to do, and I really appreciate you for this. Love you lots, dear friend. Sandra xxx

I'm voting for the better year myself!!
I officially resigned from teaching yesterday. We have too many doctor's appointments, and I just can't leave Wayne alone. He's a hot mess, lol!!

I'm hoping to have more time to write now!! Whoop, whoop!!

    Love and hugs!

I enjoyed reading your poem. The foxes are adorable and good choice for the poem. I like where you said the hens are oblivious. Nice job.

I am really glad mother fox was able to get her little ones away from the farmer with the gun. I do wish would go after something other than the farmer's children for their food. I did enjoy reading.

I'm sure all farmers wish that, but they are the easiest to get if the farmer isn't around! lol. Thanks for reading, my friend. Warmest hugs Sandra xxx Happy New Year!

Well, in most cases, the fox is usually smarter than the old farmer. So, I'm figuring she might make it back to the hen house to feed those babies before the farmer gets there. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

I could imagine that, too! Lol. But all wild animals kill other animals, and the clever fox knows there's an easy meal in chickens if he could just get past the farmer and his gun! Nothing in this life is easy!
Thanks so much, my dear, wonderful friend. I hope you had a nice Christmas, and I wish you a happy, healthy, and perhaps a little bit of spare cash in this New Year! Love and hugs, Sandra xxx

Well done you, creating so many visions from so few words. Yes, the chickens will be oblivious (as will the farmer) the cubs will be hungry, and the fox will be heartbroken not to be able to feed her family.
Well done!

That's it exactly. There isn't any wild animal that doesn't need to kill other animals to feed themselves and their young. Thank you so much for understanding and for the lovely golden star! Love and hugs, Sandra xxx

I've always found fox hunting to be a cruel and evil practice. No animal should ever be hunted for sport. This is a sad piece, Sandra, particularly of the image of the cubs being left behind.

I was one of the protesters against fox hunting. They used to meet in our village square, it was horrible. Foxes only hunt so they and their cubs don't starve. We hunt to eat as well. But not in the way the fox hunters did. Very cruel and horrible way to die. Thanks so much, Jacob, for reading and your thoughts about it. Happy New Year, my friend. :)) Sandra xx
