Those eyes sent chills through me. The poem stands alone, as an owl in motion descending on its prey. But the picture adds to the magic you created. Together they are awesome.

Oh my, what a photograph that you chose to use, Cecilia. It scares me because he looks like he's flying right at me. Your verse supports this oh so spooky poem. Well done.

I love the photo of this owl in full flight, Cecilia, after patiently waiting to see its next meal. I think they are gorgeous creatures and you've shown their place in nature well in this 5-7-5 poem. Cheers

Birds of prey are cleverly designed to hunt and kill their source of food, the amazing thing about nature is that God designed it perfectly to fit its micro connections and facilitate all survival, only man interferes with that balance, beautifully written Cecilia, blessings Roy

I like the owl and how the creature hunts for his prey. For nature does provide the food.
Nature is a great way to write poetry. Thanks for being a nature lover.

Nicki,
Thank you for the wonderful review. Yes, Owls are majestic creatures. I see them out where I live on occasion.
One morning about 630am I was on my back patio and there was an owl on one of the lower peaks of the house. I didn't know it was there all of a sudden I heard swoosh, swoosh as it flew over my head. Scared the snot right out of me.

Dolly,
Thank you for the amazing review. I love the sound of the owls hooting at night. We have one around here every so often. When he is around I had to worry about Angel and my other dog Sasha. They both weighed around 18-20 lbs not even sure if he could pick them up. Now I just need to worry about Sasha who is the fatty. She's a pug.
I saw that picture and I knew it was perfect for this poem.

That's a wicked looking owl coming in for the kill. This is a good poem describing his hunting skills. I had an injured Great Horned Owl grab a kitten out of my five-year old's hands. Mama cat saved her kitten by jumping on the owl. When we realized how badly he was injured, it took me two days to get help for him. I love animals also. Sometimes they are kinder than friends.

Carol,
Thank you for the wonderful review. That must have been a scary sight seeing that owl grab that kitten. They are majestic animals that's for sure.
I agree about animals they love you unconditionally.

It was even scarier when the mother jumped on the owl's back. It dropped the kitten but she was a good twenty feet off the ground when she jumped. She limped around for a couple of days.

Among the Choctaw belief, the sign of the owl means trouble or death. I am with you, it means wisdom to me and enjoy calling them at night during the mating season.Good post.

Charles,
Thank you for the great review. I can see why the Choctaw believe that. It never ends well for their prey. :)
Have a Happy New Year my friend.
