A very good chapter, Ben, and Happy New Year to you. You set up the scene very well as some strangers entered town, and no one knew if they were he pleasant or ornery type. I guess you had to be prepared for anything. It was unfortunate the banker plastered bills over the window for all to see. And I thought things were crazy now!
But it seems like everything worked out for now. I liked the comment that Lucy made about Claudia Priest growing things. Situations don't sound too much different than now regarding government and divisions because of it. Very well done!!

My prayer is that you have a blessed New Year filled with family and friends. I love the story.
I had asked Mr. Buskins not once but other times to remove the information saying, "Its like placing cheese on a trap hoping a rat would ignore it."
Only ignorance would accept a saying like that, and Baskins was not ignorant. (Buskins or Baskins????)
The Democrat elected,(Coke.) And harped to Washington for (elected, Coke, had harped...)

Well, I'm sure times have changed some, but when it comes to politicians, from what I'm seeing, there isn't a good or bad size anymore. They are all equal opportunity thieves and liars. LOL.
Thanks for sharing.

I really enjoyed the tension you created throughout this. Especially with the introduction of the two strangers at the saloon. The way you made the community feel like it was bracing for trouble was so well done. You've definitely set the stage for a lot of drama ahead, and I'm looking forward to seeing how it all unfolds!

That sounds ominous, Chuck. It is much like todays governments, we never know what is going to happen next. It certainly looks like Charlie's brother might be needed again, and I can't see Ralph being able to retire yet. This is another excellent chapter in your story. Well done, my dear friend. :)) Sandra xx

Hi Charles. First of all I wish you a Happy New Year.
This was another wonderful continuation to the story, and I dare say a lot of problems are looming on various fronts. I wish I had a six left because this is very well written. I'm looking forward to what's next. Ulla:)))

I would like to finish this saga sometimes in the near future. I have a spin off, I may post later, but will see how this one goes. How are things in Spain , I was wishing to buy a certain wine from your country but the duty is outrageous
