Aw, that is just so sweet, . Yes, when you have good memories of something or someone that will never go away. Nobody can take it away either. I loved this little flash. A big hug, Ulla xxx

The saying is "Better late than never" and with that in mind I am now trying to thank everyone for all the support and encouragement they gave me during these last weeks as I wrote like a mad woman. I so appreciate every time you went that extra mile for me.

This is a very nice FanStory appropriate flash fiction story. I'm sure it will tug at the heartstrings and memories of many a member.

The overall theme is one of fondness and everlasting love through life and generations. You even have the loyal dog. Well done.

Some people never really leave. I think they are merely waiting for us to join them.

I like the term 'glistening memories'.

Sometimes I think it is much harder for those of us left
behind. But, I truest believe that those of us who are still here have lessons yet to learn and things that must be done.

For you, it's your writing. It touches many hearts. Thought you should know.

This is a beautiful piece, Carol, which shows that those we love never truly leave us when they pass on, as long as we remember them, they'll live forever. A really well written piece, I enjoyed reading it.

This is an evocative, heart-rending moment portrayed here as 'Dad' remembers his late beloved partner and illustrates the meaningful love they shared.

Well said - I like the idea of "glistening memories", and while the memories are emotinally very moving, they can be joyful and encouraging, as well as lonely r bitter. Well written.

I'm not sure how you built such an emotional response from me, your reader, with every story you tell. Country Woman sometimes buys stories, and this one would be great. Immediately the reader knows this is happening in the country, even before he remembers her riding her horse.

A lovely imagery of "glistening memories" infuses this short story with a blend of poignancy and contented resignation. The visual perfectly sets your excellent flash off by capturing the mood that follows. Well done, Carol. Take care Debbie

"glistening memories" alone deserves six stars, Carol. This is precisely what tears of longing and loss truly are -- wishes unfulfilled now that were once life's greatest blessings. This is short, yet packs a punch, especially this time of year when so many of us are missing our loved ones gone on before us.

Glistening Memories was the key to this story for me as well and it appears so many others. It's strange how you write something and then discover how it affects so many others.
