Most of us also look better in the mirror naturally than we do in a photograph. I just like to think that I am Narcissus for a brief moment while brushing my teeth. This is an excellent portrayal on makeup, literal or more abstract. I would write more, but I need to finish this review before midnight reset : )

The mirror hiding the true self and the person within needing escape, was my take on this beautifully written poem. I read it more than once to grasp the meaning, which is a symbol of a grear poem.

"The widest I ever did paint." Does this mean that you were truly satisfied with the image, or was this the best-drawn mask to hide what is really going on? The voices that beat beneath buttons is a pretty good phrase. I know that feeling all too well. This is a very good poem. Good luck.

surfacing truth
with a palette that pleases the glass
sealed are the polished red lips
on the mask I have made for the mirror,
Well said and wonderfully written. As the saying goes::
We are what we think we are (in the mirror)
We are what others think we are (no need for the mirror)
We are what we really are (without the mirror) =)
