To be willing to die for someone would involve a lot of soul searching and total conviction that death is not end and that reward for your sacrifice will surely await you. I have visited the colosseum in Rome. It is hard to visualize what horror went on there. I enjoyed this thought provoking post.

The story is very well written and I enjoyed very much listening to it. I wish you the very best in the contest. May you have a lovely day may you also have a lovely week and may God give you a very merry Christmas. And may he also give you a prosperous and happy new year. Patricia.

This is a fascinating story and it must be terrifying to enter into a fight to the death. Your Mum sounds like a fighter who battled with cancer so that she could see her second Grandson. Such bravery we sometimes see in our heroic families. I enjoyed your fine words June, love Dolly x x x

I'm not fond of watching gladiators or even boxing. It was a shock to read that in the Mayan game, the winner would be beheaded!
I like your thought-provoking question as to what we would be willing to die for. I guess as Christians we should be willing to die for our faith. But we know there are many who stay alive in underground churches to share the gospel.
And as you point out, your mom was so brave to battle cancer and do all she could to see your second son!
Best wishes in the contest!

I'm so glad your mum is your hero, she leaves a great legacy to the honour of your family, I must admit I'm happy my God actually died for, and to die for Him is only to die to self. Beautifully written June, blessings Roy

June,

What a great story for the nonfiction writing contest. Not sure there's anyone I would fight or die for in my life. Just saying. The story is well organized and flows nicely.

Well done my friend

Cecilia

June,

I have been to both. I was unaware of the alleged address in Rome, but if I played in the ball game, I think I would allow the other captain to win (-;

For sure, Moms are our heroes!

June,
A very poignant write. I visited the Colosseum I 1976 and stepped where the hapless Christians stayed, awaiting their fates.
Your writing about your travel to the Yukatan Penninsula sounds very interesting.
Your write on different cultures and how they view honor is exceptional.
Good luck, June.
Blessings,
Cindy
*im sorry about your mom, June. I'm so glad she got to see her second great grandchild.
Blessings,
Cindy
