This is powerful! Your words paint a picture of so much misunderstood pain. The emotion in this piece is potent and palatable at the same time. Again, you perfectly balance both sides. I love how you put forth the fact that this is a choice people make and it is not an easy one. I love how, too, you put in the opinions of popular society. I have taken some suicide prevention training, and yes, it is the most difficult decision a person can make. It is not cowardice, by any means. As always, you take real life and paint such beautiful and emotional pictures with your words. Well done, again. Keep up the great work.

Hi Todd!
Thank you so much!!! I was really proud of this piece, and I'm so happy to hear you enjoyed it too and found it powerful. I wanted to really make the reader think. I've struggled with suicidal thoughts on and off most of my life, and even tried to take my life in my early teens. I'm doing much better now, but it was definitely hard. I wanted to really capture the struggle.
Thank you again and have a wonderful day,
Keely

our poem really hit me deeply. It's so emotional. Especially the way you described the battles of those struggling with depression. I can feel the weight of the words. The lines about the fallen soldiers and the pain they carry really stuck with me. It's a powerful reminder to honor those who are fighting battles we can't always see. Keep sharing your powerful voice!

Hi Michael!
Thanks as always for your kindness and support. I actually wrote a poem with this same title years and years ago and I was amazed by the clear improvement of my writing. I really liked this piece, but wasn't sure the reader would like it that much. I'm happy to hear you enjoyed it and found it powerful.
Have a great day,
Keely

This was... POWERFUL, HONEST, and EDUCATIONAL. As someone who has been suicidal, attempting to claim my own life once, this poem truly spoke to me. You did a splendid job maintaining rhyme scheme without abandoning or greatly changing from the topic. I know this poem was more about soldier suicide, but I run a blog called "giftandcurse-schizo" in which I refer to each of those battling as "Lonely Warrior." I believe we both have a mission to end suicide, and I've been called cowardice so many times when I mentioned I didn't feel like living, and it just pushed me to actually attempt. It actually takes great bravery to think better can come after life. I have a suggestion of the sorts. Perhaps, I could feature this poem on my blog.
