There is a problem that Slim is missing, but didn't he have that gold mine somewhere near Cerrillos? He maybe should have taken the rifle as there are cougars in the mountains. I'm interested to see where you are going with this. I know I've forgotten some of the interesting details.

I'm glad you're back on this story. I got way behind and lost out on what was happening with the big truck story. I really enjoyed reading about these characters and you make these stories so interesting.

Thank you.
In the truck story, I killed Clyde at the end. But my daughter (and others) got so upset that I wrote an alternate ending where Clyde opened an 'Every Day Is Sunday' truck stop with showers, and frequent (short) church services every day with help from a big church who did a lot of volunteering. (My daughter cried, she was so happy - weird)

I'm glad you decided to let Clyde liver or be resurrected. I think I'd go with the second ending.

When the pick up truck appeared, for an instant I thought we were back in your old novel combined with this one. But your version is better and more exciting. I hope in the next installment we find out what happened to Slim.

I have been off fanstory for a long while. I am happy to review your work again. I like the idea of situational ethics. The hook at the end is great. I want to find out what happened to Slim. I do not see any need for corrections.

Whatever has happened to Skim, this is so mysterious, I love the way thru took care of those two crooks, they may give up trying to rob two innocents of tgeur hard earned money next time, what an excellent, very brave plan they'd concocted, well done Wayne, good tale, blessings Roy

I should have known Ben Paul would have had something up his sleeve the minute the robbers approached. There are the takers and the givers in life, and Ben Paul isn't the type to have anything taken that he isn't willing to give. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you much!
Besides, the man threatened Sylvie!
-
Yes, and that too. You can't threaten Sylvie. Heck, I'm and old Kentucky boy, I think everyone should learn to fight back against the bad guys. If they start early enough, they'll learn it can be fun. LOL.

"Situational ethics" ... don't believe I've heard that before, but I like it.
Good chapter, Wayne. Began with actions, ended with mystery.

Thank you. I always appreciate your reviews.
Situational ethics is generally frowned upon. It's usually just a contrived excuse for misbehavior.

Wayne,
This book is coming along nicely. It's well organized and flows nicely.
It would appear that Slim decided to wander during the night. Now the mystery of where did he go.
Well done

He's certainly old enough to wander.
But in chapter (about 120), he was accused of killing Mary's ex, who hadn't accepted that he was divorced.
Thank you for your very nice review.

Wayne,
You are welcome
