Hello, Mystery Writer,
Your Blank Verse is stellar in every way!
You have seamlessly presented the Blank Verse poetic format while allowing the reader to experience - first hand - the machinations of a spider doing what it must to survive.
So very perceptive and so very much enjoyed!

Thank you for sharing!
Best Wishes!
diane

-Nice artwork and presentation.
-You did a good job with your poem.
-A good topic and effective imagery
that creates a good word picture of this scene.
-You set the scene very well in the opening lines.
-I like the image "strands of lace in spiral sweeps."
-The line of "neckline drapery" is also very good.
-A very good second verse about the spider
and how it manages to catch its prey.
-I like your image "skein of lace" and
the last line, as well.
-A very good entry; good luck in the contest.

An excellent entry for the Blank Expression competition. Great presentation from the accompanying photo to the perfect stanzas, wonderful descriptive language, and fascinating subject. Definitely worthy of a win. Well done!

I haven't seen a blank verse for such a long time a lot of the poets that could have woven one of these poems have escaped the fold. Beautifully written, poetry is still alive and well, a great subject, the spider is one of creation's masterpieces, as is this fine poem, well done, good luck, blessings Roy

This is beautifully written. I love how the words are both creatively combined and descriptive. The poem is also well illustrated. I like you have termed the creation of the web and spider waiting for her prey as the beauty of nature's darker face.

I adore looking at spider webs, in saying that I am a little scared of spiders when they decide to venture indoors lol! This is beautifully put together, I love how you have captured the amazing artwork and hard work that goes into these works of art! And then of course the functionality of it and rewards of a big feast in the end. Excellent work, good luck with the contest.
Best Wishes
Nicki

This is a very well-written blank expression poem on a spider and the way it hunts. I love the imagery "and in the graveyard hours she decks each strand...". The word choices are superb. Best of luck for the contest.

I really like this blank verse poem describing a web and the artist who made it. You have vividly described the web in lines 3-9 and characterized its maker as being skillful and unmerciful. I might question the use of attercop which seems too formal for this context. However, your meter is flawless. Very well done, Poet. This is definitely a red ribbon contender. Rod
