The poem and the artwork go very well together. The raven is always a remarkable symbol, not only for Edgar Allan Poe, and it takes an exceptional effort to succeed with this symbol.

I liked reading this 2-4-2. It definitely evokes an image and a mood. What an attractively dramatic presentation you created. Congratulations on the first place win!

Hi MariVal
This poem reminds us that ravens are dark colored literally and figuratively. They are black in color and are considered bad omens.
Congrats on winning the contest.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Merry Christmas

I think you have a winner here, my friend. It's perfect. Ravens signify death and darkness, or a bad omen. Night always seem to be the time of horror, and this 2-4-2 adds to that feeling. Very well done, and good luck in the contest. :)) Sandra xx

I like it! The "edge of night" makes something non-physical like "night" have some physical border! And the blackness of the raven fits with the blackness of the night. Best wishes in the contest!

There is some mystery in this contest entry as to why the raven are perched on the edge of night. My mind is wanting to know more about that. That's a good place to leave your readers, wanting more. Good luck with the contest.

Hi Gypsy, simple poem about ravens and how they're flying around as night approaches. They are as black as night. You always have good pictures from Pinterest. Dove

A very atmospheric and Poesque 2-4-2 verse with its haunting, otherworldly quality, ideally suited for the contest. Thank you for sharing and good luck! Debbie

cool cool! i like ravens and crows
a great haiku about them
one typo - i think it's "perched on the edge"
one suggestion - maybe make it a 4-line haiku?
ravens
p e r c h e d
on the edge---
of night
just a couple thoughts...
still an excellent poem
thank you for sharing it!
shelley :)
