Yes, truth has the power to sift through lies. The truth will shine its light on darkness. Somehow, the truth always comes out, and if a person hides the truth, it probably come out in some form, sooner or later. Excellent repeating lines in this, and you did a great job with the villanelle form. judi

Truth is the better road to take, though sometimes it can be a bitter pill to swallow. But in the end, it is far better to face the truth than discover you were living lies. Very well said.

Telling the truth is easy. You have no need to remember the lies and stories. It is also hard, it can hurt folks.
I had an uncle with no filter. My aunt asked him if she looked fat in her dress. He said not near as much as you did in the other one sweetie. Good writing. Happy turkey day. Karen

Truth can be very hard to swallow. Hearing the truth will leave you hurt sometimes, but hearing lies is a different kind of hurt. It makes you wonder how many others are lying to you. Beautifully written. Gretchen
