Although this is a nice poem I can't help but find some flaws. Especially the final stanza! What mistakes do we die from? Are they from our own decisions and only that? Has God made mistakes with some of its creatures ie: disease carrying insects? There's not a single person that has made a mistake, they are just unlucky, in being bitten by a disease carrying insect or bird (avian flu, zika virus, covid 19) which have contributed to numerous deaths. Are the unsuspecting people to blame? I don't want to have a theological debate, but there seems to be very flawed thinking here in my opinion.

Should the fourth line "couldn't undo?"

All of the exploring and conquering, is this not part of the problem? Think of the crusades and the countless that died in trying to be converted to Christianity.

It is fine to have a faith or belief system, but it can't be contrary to what history has demonstrated, or science has explained. For interest sake I'm not an unbeliever in a higher power, I'm just not sure if that looks like what many believe.

Anyway best regards and happy writing.

Please allow me to clear up some obvious misunderstanding. As a believer, I accept the Biblical account that said that man was at first perfect, created to live forever in a paradise Earth. Man messed up and allowed imperfection to invade the world. Unlike man and his weak promises, God has promised through the sacrifice of his perfect son Jesus, most of who have died will be resurrected and given a second chance at life and the chance to advance to perfection. I did not intend to preach but on the chance that you might be helped to better understand, I felt the need to go there.

Thank you for the courage to respond. I wasn't trying to be controversial and I always enjoy seeing two sides of a coin. I've read some of your other writings and will continue to do so. Have a great day.

Thank you. I did not view your comments as a challenge. If I cannot effectively defend my faith, my faith then is weaker than a piece of wet tissue paper. I thank you for the opportunity to express my beliefs and my reason for having them.

Hi Nomi,

I love this testament to God's creative power so well expressed in this very original
poem. You think like me, Nomi as I have so often felt Big Pharma had lost it's way. It seems governed by greed and the billions pocketed from these questionable chemicals is criminal. I used to trust but no longer blindly take many of the untested medications prescribed today. The side effects from taking them not only are unpleasant but can harm and can kill you. It's insane.

Great poem written to inform about run-a-way Big Pharma - Drug Companies who fast-track their products and distribute them before they have been fully tested. Also the NIH ... well that's another story but part of the whole rotten picture.

Informative and well written.

Thank you so much. It hurts me to see God who created man to be perfect, getting blamed for our mistakes.

Hi Nolan
This is a well rhymed poem which shows the wonders of creation. I wonder what would happen if more people used wholistic or herbal medicined instead of Pharma drugs. Luckily I don't have to worry about that yet. I am not on any prescriptions yet. God makes no mistakes.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Have a tremendous weekend.

love these lines
Natural cures have few side effects,

except to limit Big Pharma's paychecks.

Pills designed to cure a simple ache,

could put you in the ground if you over medicate.

Thank you, I must admit, they were inspired. Therefore, I take little credit for them. I simply recorded what came to me from out of the sky.

I was pleasantly surprised by the uniqueness of this poem! I have seen a lot of religious poetry on FanStory that are all similar (though beautiful nonetheless). Not only does your poem subvert the typical subject matter of a religious poem but it very specifically and elegantly describes a very prominent issue in the world. When I was still in college, I took a class that focused on the history of "witchcraft" depicted through literature. What has happened time and time again throughout history is the persecution of women who use herbal or home remedies bycalling them witches, all to make way for industrial "big pharma" cures. Your poetry has brought me back to one of my most interesting classes. Thank you for your thoughtfulness!

What a truly lovely picture. Your poem is very lovely. It is well done without being preachy. I am listening to Andre' Rieu Greatest hits on Youtube. You tube is free with commercials. I can play it one computer while I work in Fan story. Karen

absolutely love this poem. rolls of the tongue, I found myself in some form of meditation while reading it. But, of course ill leave that up to my lord that guides me on my path today to discover new beginnings and new awakenings to humble me on my journeys today . This was a wonderful poem to start my day and thank you, keep writing and looking forward to more praise of the wisdom and the truth from all that our lord provides the hands to write

God has never made a mistake .he has given everything in a orderly and effective manner .But man has overused his intelligence ..and has upset the divine balance.. Thank you for sharing this beautiful thought.

I just loved this. And I have always been a fan. But the way you expertly, deftly handled a theme statement: "How God created us to discover his creation." The rhyme scheme, and the thinking message all worked. Isn't an interesting side note here, if we take the position, man wasn't meant to die, but sin brought physical death, yet in his mercy and benevolence he instructed Israel on how to avoid diseases, and seemed to give them divine information before it was accepted as science. Loved the funny but thoughtful way you ended this.

Exactly so. We need to truly trust Him and His wonderful and creative powers. Our native peoples have known the natural healing powers to be found in plants for many hundreds of years. We just don't know how little we know of His amazing works for our blessing.

Agreed. The best thing for us is that the pharmaceutical companies have figured out how to treat and even cure some diseases based on what our ancestors discovered, used and passed down to succeeding generations.
