This is a good title. It'll draw the reader in. It sounds like we're coming to the real crux of the problem. Good use of stream of consciousness like Jack London uses, in his book to light a fire.

I love hearing Miranda's internal thoughts as she debates with herself in the mirror. What a great vehicle for showing how she puzzles things out. The mirror won't let her fool herself either.
I loved how you built up the suspense, especially with that dream scene at the end. I'm not sure who Ed Preston was, but he sure awakens some horror within her.
Tomlin is definitely a creep, and a showdown is looming. Can't wait for it. Great chapter, Gretchen.

Ed Preston was in the first Muranda book. Miranda found his body. I can't imagine that would be an easy thing to forget. Lol. Thank you for this awesome feedback. I appreciate the extra star. Gretchen

Yep, that's right, I've met a few like Tomlin, and I almost always crack, believe me they are the idiots, they may get away with some things in this life, but not the next. However the gospel says to love them, as God loves us, leave judgement in His, boy that tests me, and finds me out, well done Gretchen, blessings Roy

I know we're supposed to love our neighbor and not judge people, but man, is that ever tough. Thank you for the nice review. Gretchen

I doubt Miranda is willing to get Mitch involved at this point, but it would probably be a good idea. I really like this story.
Alligators smile in a similar fashion, flashing teeth and cold reptilian eyes. (I didn't know alligators smile, but if they did, you described them perfectly. LOL)

I can feel the love Miranda has for Waylon. She's fighting with everything she's got to keep him. How much you love somebody is how much you're willing to fight for them. Great poem.

This is a very interesting story to listen to, and I enjoyed listening to it very much. It flows very well when it is read aloud your sentence structure your paragraph in your punctuation. Make it for a very good story to listen to. Patricia.

This is all getting very creepy and surreal for poor Miranda. This is an uncomfortable feeling for Miranda. She knows her instincts are usually right but she feels restrained by some other, more cautious considerations (now loosing their grip). It's building up to a showdown, me thinks! Well done on this excellent write, Gretchen. Debbie

My god, Gretchen, that was a horror story! Goodness know what is going to happen next, but I do want to see that creep cut down, literally! I think that Tomlin jerk is going after Miranda now. Big time! I can't wait to read on. Well done, my friend. This was great!! :)) Sandra xx

Thank you Sandra. I try to tie in the previous book from time to time. I figured that Miranda would still be haunted by finding Ed Preston's body. I really appreciate this. Gretchen

Gretchen, this is an amazing chapter. I enjoy her dialogues with herself, and I know she is right to trust her gut instincts. What a horrid dream - a cloud of black flies coming out of his mouth! Ominous (implying another death), and filled with tension. Very vivid imagery (as friendly as a rabid dog, the reptilian eyes, the peppery sarcasm (perfect!), You are right - these situations build until there is a dramatic and fearful explosion. Wonderful writing.
