I like your very first two lines. Great wordplay. "Rob
Redbreast." is speak for all of us here. Leaving his pretty home
For he knows cold is coming
And to protect his family
He needs to move to greener pastures
He looks forward to returning next Spring.

These creatures are so wise that they know what to do to survive hardship. Poems of nature fill my heart with joy. Thanks so much for sharing your work. Remain blessed, my friend.

What a lovely tale of the Robin. Here where I am, they don't migrate and can be seen with their red breasts shining in the chiliest of winter snow.
I love the way this is written.
Thank you for sharing.

Hi Tim
Thanks for the nice review. Sometimes they don't migrate here either.

Dear poet, I love bird poems
and this one is excellent.
We pretty much have a backyard wild bird sanctuary.
My daughter and son-in-law
have put up several birdhouses and feeders. No
pun intended, but they flock
here. Have a mellow evening.

What an interesting style poem! Certainly have not seen one of these before , looks like you did a great job. I love the robin redbreast, one of my favourite birds, you captured here beautifully the journey Rob has to take when the cold sets in until Spring. Well done. Is the style called-early morning sentinel?
Best Wishes

A fun offering in a one-to-ten formatting -- cheery as the little robin about which it is written! ;) :) Thanx for sharing that smile for the morning, my lady! ;) Yvette

Not all robins fly south for the winter, many of them remain because they are to weak to make the journey. Instead they face a bleak winter and hope to survive. A poignant poem for the club, love Dolly x x x

Hi Dolly,
Thanks for your kind comments. I feel sorry for the robins forced to stay.

An excellent nonet Joan. We don't have Robins here, or cardinals either for that matter, I love this, I think I remember when we lived in England for the first few years of my life, beautifully written my friend, blessings Roy
