With daily practice, you will succeed Jesse and your nightmares about the stumbling blocks are encouraging you to overcome the obstacles and win. I practice standing on one leg now as I could not do it before, but perhaps this is a step too far for you just now. I wish you luck and never give up. You will look back at your progress and be proud Jesse, an encouraging post, love Dolly x

I have a prayer list that I use each morning, and you are now on it, Jesse. Never give up, I know that I did not have to say that. I can feel your strong spirit in your writing.

Motivation can be one of the most difficult things to achieve but it sounds like you have found it and are using it to the best of your ability. Praying that you get stronger and more confident daily with your walking and hurry back to FS.

Those would indeed be scary and frightening nightmares, so I hope you can have better dreams. Sounds like you are in fact making good progress with your walking. Using a walker will be much easier and allow you more freedom. Best wishes, Jesse, you are geting there!

Thanks, Wendy, for your supportive feedback. Freedom from the wheelchair is within reach. Thanks for your good wishes.

Someone wrote a verse the other day about the need to take small steps, not leaps and bounds, when navigating change. Your lovely, inspiring write reminded me of this, especially the way in which you've already mentally taken those baby steps towards the biggest change of all. You're incredibly positive and determined and this will help you enormously. I wish you all the very best, Jesse, for your knee op in Feb and thereafter. Well done! Debbie

I am definitely wishing you well and I'm actually encouraged by your "nightmares" because you are mentally preparing for the battle. Soon you'll be dreaming about walking with ease and after your surgery you'll actually be walking!

This essay, Dreams of Walking, is interesting and obviously frustrating to have to endure the challenge of walking even while dreaming. Good to know the obstacle courses are simply mental. One day the walking struggle will become a story you speak about in retrospect.

Hi Jesse, it's so good to see you in print, and I am wishing you well--wishing you the best. They say that dreams represent our fears and our hope. I think your dreams have been doing both. Of special note:
150 steps, as counted by my caregiver, Denise,
(Congratulations on the 150 steps. They have been hard earned, and they are just the beginning of more steps to come as well as happy times. I am cheering you on.)
I'm glad that your brother is doing better from his surgery. Now sounds like the perfect time to get your walker back--slow and steady wins the race.
Thanks for sharing your progress. It all sounding positive.
Keep on truckin'. Best wishes, Margaret ~ LateBloomer

I do wish you well and I believe you will walk again. From reading your words, you sound so determined. You have an uplifting tale here that encourages others to not give up. The dreams we have at night, sometimes are manifestations of the goal we want to achieve.
