Excellent every day horror. I had students and friends who live this terror every day of their lives, the constant paranoia, the seclusion and the terror of discovery. Thank you for leaving us with an ending both realistic and semi-happy. Thank you for bringing to the attention of those who do not know, the horror of this frightening situation and the realization that these are just people trying to make their way in a sometimes hostile world.

Thank you for taking the time to read and provide an encouraging review. I deeply feel for people who have come to this country seeking a better life as my grandparents did and are now being threaten by Trump.

Author,
I love that you put a face on the immigrant situation. Most immigrants come here to escape poverty or gang violence (not being members).
Most law-abiding.
A Republican Southern govenor corralled a bunch of illegals and put them on buses headed to Northern U.S. where now they will try to uplift the immigrants again.
Your poignant story gives much-deserved empathy to the law-abiding immigrants woven into the colorful tapestry of our country.
Good luck in the contest!

Thank you for your review and the honor of six stars. My grandparents were immigrants from Europe.

I don't consider this to be fiction anymore. Today's reality makes this a very real Horror for too many people. Racism, bias, and hate do not have any place in our country, especially when it is endorsed by the President and his cabinet. You've shown the ugliness of our current situation and it is truly horrific.

I could not agree with you more. I fear for our country over the next four years. Thank you for your read and the honor of six stars.

The tension you built here is so powerful. I could feel Maria's fear of being discovered. You painted her world so clearly that I felt like I was right there with her. I could feel the dread! This story holds so much strength. Beautifully done!
