This sounds like depression and it is a continuing spiral and only the victim can pull themselves out of it. I enjoyed your skilful poem with good rhymes here, a fine entry for the contest, love Dolly x

I really felt the tension and emotional struggle in your poem. The small cracks of light trying to shine through give a sense of hope - even if it's fleeting. I love how you capture the feeling of being on the outside, watching someone go through this emotional whirlwind. You've done a great job making these emotions feel real and raw! Yes, it can also be difficult to be on the outside looking in when a loved one is in mental or emotional distress. It is a sickness that you really can't see and has no definite medication or cure. Good entry.
