Wow! Patrick, a well deserved win with your 20 syllable beauty "Knots". It's simply a perfectly memorable little poem from its title, image chosen and the rhyming couplet. I love it!
All the best,
Senysi

Hi Patrick
This is a good depiction of love in twenty syllables. Love is never free from pain. Nice artwork. It is probably why getting married is called 'tying the knot'.
Congrats on winning the contest.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Have a wonderful weekend.

I don't read or write poetry and don't know the first thing about it. But I do stop to read it a little just to get an idea of what poets are trying to do. Congratulations on your blue ribbon!

Congratulations on your first place win, well deserved. We all have those tangled knots in our lives. Yin and Yang, love and passion. Very well composed. Don

Hey, congratulations! How did I miss this one? The simplicity and monotone of the visual is perfect to complement such a beautifully expressed 20 syllable verse. Almost Shakespearean in its romantic tone, every word is assiduously selected to convey your theme with impact and emotion. Well done! Debbie

Your twenty syllables are so much more than the sum of its parts. I don't often see both short and rhyming poems from you...like me you tend to put more meat on the bone.
(smile)
The brevity here works so well.
There is pain, there is passion... and far too often the two become entangle, never to live without the other!

Hi Karenina! Thank you for visiting my short poem. I tend to shy away from them, as you said, but I need more member dollars, and these contests are always available. I figure I can increase my odds in the shortest amount of time, right? Art is one thing, but sometimes we must consider economics. 😂

For sure! Member Dollars are everything here. One reason I NEVER spend real money to by FS currency!

A very lovely use of wo syllables sure to win over the reviewer's hearts. Having been in pain today due to an ailment, I'll tell you passion is better. O look forward to more of your poetry,

This is a nice poem. It is short and sweet, but those four lines say a lot. The picture is a nice visual and helps make the poem speak louder.
Great job
Keep them coming
