The story that everyone who has young children can relate to. As parents We can decide whether to get angry or do exactly what the story talked about, and that is to use it as a teaching moment and to be gentle and kind. Thanks for sharing, Lana

An excellent little story here, clearly written and with a strong message of advice that things once started should be finished. Otherwise - and I like this comment - it's as if something has been left behind. It needs no drama just one of life's lessons learned. Well done and good luck! Debbie

Nice picture.
In the start of this story for say Mom said. Who is Mom? Is it Liam's mom? Why is her voice worn? Is it shabby?
Why did you have all of the dialog in italicized print?
Most readers will know what quotation marks are used for.
Didn't know Liam was already on the floor with the piece until the end. Why pick them up if he's making the puzzle there.

Hi there,
I liked this little piece. there's a nice rhythm and flow to the writing. It's sort of like one of those wee moralistic tales that used to be so popular.
It's a minor thing but I would either italicise the dialogue OR use the speech marks rather than both.
them flying further across the room. - generally speaking, it's farther for physical distance.
All the best

GMG,
Thank you for your review. I appreciate and value your comments and spotting the error in the using further rather than farther.

I love the patience in this post as Mother helps her son concentrate and not give up on this jigsaw puzzle. A fine lesson learned at a young age as life can be hard and difficult at times and we must never give up. I loved the philosophy here but most of all I enjoyed the kindness offered to this child as he will also learn to be patient. A fine post for the contest, love Dolly x

Acckk! You totally stole my idea! Lol! I'd been contemplating entering this prompt (I haven't) and that was the idea I had, too! So, of course, it's brilliant. :-)
I'm a huge fan of jigsaw puzzles, just did a 2,000 piece one a few weeks ago with some friends, and we were tempted numerous times to toss it to the floor.
I love how you turned the story into a great life lesson for Liam.
I didn't see any errors. Best of luck!

Julie,
Thanks for your review. All I can I say is that "Great minds think alike." I love jigsaw puzzles. I largest piece puzzle I've completed is 5,000 pieces. I am looking to buy a 9,000 piece puzzle in the near future. I also found a puzzle with a total number of 26,000 pieces in a Google search.
I'd love to see your entry for this contest

A heartwarming flash fiction that shows a very loving parent. There are many parents who wound have punished the child and with one scoop, put the puzzle in the trash. A very good story example to set.
