I love this tale of addiction and the fight to overcome it. It echoes with a taste of reality I have seen all to often among the victims of societies great lie, that happiness can be found in a powder or pill.

Good gravy! This is simply fantastic. You twisted this around into an allegory. What wonderful writing. And a truly marvelous picture. You did not reference the picture in your authors notes. Where did you get that perfect match for your story? Grand work. Karen

Wow! Such a strong statement and message in your work. So many people today... especially our youth... get caught within the subtle grasp of the many grips of Candyland. My cousin has a granddaughter going through the grips of Candyland right now. Such a sad situation. I wish all the Peppermint Promisers could be flushed away by more Cinnamon Chucks.

I like this one. I had thought of doing a similar story so I'm glad I read your's first. I will write something else for it, perhaps. Good luck...you did a nice job on the story and the picture you have with it works very well...

This is very good. IT has a solid analogy theme that adults fully understand. Many of us know sugar, in a way, acts like a drug in the human body. Good progression with a realistic journey and resolution. IT is a short story, so the tell vs. showing was heavy, but the reader easily followed along. A great entry for this contest.
