You provide words of wisdom and comfort for Wayne and his wife. Your poem is certainly heartfelt and well written. I do not understand the article fully, and I am ashamed that I do not; however, I think I get the gist. I am not familiar with this writer or spouse, but I have already sent wishes through another writer, and I again add my prayers. Like you, I hope that he is recovering at this time. Evi

We say this last line in church a lot. This is a wonderful thought for Wayne. I hope he is healing well. Life does seem so short when we are getting older. Remember how as a child the days were so long?

It seems that the crosses get heavier as we get older, Dawn.

Christ, help me with the cross I bear.
I pray that, for me, you will care.
I know you're buried with demands,
But please take me into your hands.

Paul, who was so close to God, had his thorn in the flesh to which God said, "My grace is sufficient". God heals but sometimes there are those things we must bear to learn a lesson or for something God has prepared for us.

Hi Dawn,
This is a good poem that can also be a prayer of even a modern psalm.
It is true that as we age we wonder more about the eternal and bear our crosses better.
Keep writing and stay healthy.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend
Joan

Beautifully said, Deborah! We can only hope that Wayne's well on the road to recovery by now. They've both been through so much together and I understand they're finding strength from this book of prayers and encouragement. Take care Debbie

I continue to pray for you and for Wayne and Rhonda. I know you all can use prayers and that's something I can do to help. I enjoyed reading. Thank you for sharing this with us.
