Roy and family, thank you so much for those kind words. You have me welling up a bit as I type this. I really felt this piece in my heart and my head at the same time. Sometimes, it simply comes together as it was meant to be. warmest regards from Gerard.

Thank you very much! Barry, sometimes, they just all come together perfectly and when you are finished, you look at it and say: " Don't change a single thing." It only happens a handful of times. I myself am proud of this one. Thanks, and warm regards from Gerard.

I good link between the many forms of the Mustang, but you forgot the greatest Mustang of them all. With every line I was anticipating, but it never came.
So
Ride, Sally ride

You are talking to the choir. The Wicked Pickett has always been on my personal favorites list for In the Midnight Hour; Mustang Sally; ;634-5789; just to name my top three. You got me. As a matter of fact, he was on the radio just a while ago Wilson and Sam and Dave were the definitive singers of southern soul/rock music. Regards from Gerard.

The Mustang is a survivor through many years, through many forms, and is still changing. What a wonderfully written poem. Good luck in the contest! Have a great day, and God bless.

I truly appreciate your kind words. Yes, the mustang is a survivor. He still roves the remote corners of the west. He was a superb fighter aircraft in two wars and he is still on the road today when others have been discontinued or dropped (unjustly and stupidly in some cases.) Thank you so much! Gerard.

This is a wonderful piece of writing and a great entry for the Free Form Poetry competition. It is a whirlwind trip through time, an evolution of the word and what it has represented over the years. Rich, descriptive language, fantastic imagery. I really enjoyed this one! Well done!

I love the way this poem starts out as a horse and evolves into a plane. Moving on to the car and finally your malleable self. What a creative play on words. Good luck on the contest.

Yes, the car brings back strong potent memories for me. I literally grew up in a neighborhood of mustangs and the varied muscle cars of the era. it was an exciting exhilarating time and riding in one of them out on the open road was always a memorable experience. Thank you so much for the review. regards GK

Apologies firstly, I have no sixes. This truly is breathtaking. I've been on Fanstory around seventeen years, and I can honestly say, I don't recall ANYTHING better than this. It captivated everything I like in poetry. I can't wait to read more of your work.
