Hey Sweetheart, you have no idea how much I appreciate you sweet and wonderful review and words. Would you believe that on the day your dad died was my mom's birthday. Actually that is part of my password to everything. 1217. You were so blessed to have him until 90. My mom died at 58 from pancreatic cancer. She weighed less than her age when she died.
Thanks again sweetie. You are so sweet and I appreciate your six stars and you so much. Much love to you. Debi

Hi Debi, Thank you for all your kid words my wonderful friend...we were both blessed by God to be given
the parents we had...🙏🙏...
it just seems even with my parents dying in their later years...it was to soon...
you lost your mom way to young...
for me my parents were here the better part of my life...you would think
that is a gift...but when they have been there for you so long...you count on them always being here when you need them...I'm getting older...I had my mom 2 years ago to help me except it...explain my aches and pains...now I help my daughter with
hers...😢love you girl...xxoo ❤️🤗🙏🌼

I'm a bit teary-eyed thinking of the people you have touched with this loving poem, written so beautifully, Debi. My mom died in September of 1987, at the age of 60. Every holiday brings up memories of times the family shared without a shadow of a glimpse of the future without her. Thank God for our recollections of those days. This makes me mindful of being more intentional in building happy thoughts for my children and grandchildren to reflect on when my time comes...

Gosh, I am late with these but I am getting there. Slow but sure. Well, not so how sure I am either. LOL. Thanks for such sweet comments for my poem for my mom. You lost your mom long before my mom. She died in 1995.
Thanks again, and yes, we will always miss them. Especially when there is that time when something really good or something bad happens. You just want to call them. Thank God I have the next best thing, thanks to you.
Lotsa love, Debi

True. Most days I'm fine... Some days I feel like an orphan...still!

A poem most can relate too, it sounds much like the memories I have of my own mom. Unfortunately some moms are not made to be moms, and don't take the time to enjoy them.

I don't know you personally, but it seems that everything of yours I have read, was written with the purest of love for the subject. Those in your circle are blessed to have you. Thank you for a beautiful read, my writing sister. lol

Another worthy of fr more than I have. I think of my sister, Rose Marie, and the many adventures we had together till God took her. now I have my own girl, who I named in her memory, Elisabeth Rose.

Please don't worry about late responding. I haven't felt too good lately, and my daughter's coming starting tomorrow, so I'll be falling behind.

What a lovely poem for your mother. She sounds like a wonderful mother who wanted to make memories on the holidays for her children. It is shame she had go way to early and I know she would like memories of her being put into poetry by a caring daughter.

Beth, I am delighted you liked my poem for my mom, because I wanted it to be special so she would know how much I miss her. Well, you know what I mean, if she could hear it. Amazing after she has been gone thirty years (next year), she would still live in my heart so much. Yet, I know most everyone is maybe missing theirs mom and thought many can relate.
So thank you ever so much, Beth for giving my memories of yesteryears a six star rating. I am honored by your kindness. Thanks again for the lovely review of my best memories. Love, Debi

Your mom must have died close to the time mine died. Mom died in 1995. We stop missing our moms.

Mine died August 21st, 1995 at 58 years old. Yes, the same year. What date? And did you mean we never stop missing our moms?
-
Mom died July 23, 1995, she was 80, but she hadn't been sick. She been out mowing the grass.

Oh my, now that is the way to go. My mom had pancreatic cancer and was down to about fifty some pounds when she died at 58. 'I am turning 70 in one week so that is why I write in my poem that I made it 12 years more than she did. My gosh I have a daughter who will be 50 in March so that really feels young now to lose my mom. I will now think of you around a month before my mom's anniversary comes of her death.

I loved the brightly colored, vibrant photo of Halloween; replete with a ghostly house decorated with lots of dazzling, lighted, smiling Jack-O-Lanterns!! Even the golden candlelight shining from the windows is sometimes orange!! Your poem is nostalgic, a yearning from a different time when your wonderful mom was alive to entertain you. Your poem reminds me of a Simon & Garfunkle song:
"Time it was, and what a time it was, it was
A time of innocence, A time of confidences
Long ago, it must be, I have a photograph
Preserve your memories; They're all that's left you".
What a beautiful tribute to your mother! Cheers, Jeanine Browne:):)

Hi Debi,
A nice tribute for your mother! It sounds like she covered all the bases to make your world complete.
My favorite line,
"I'd pick you from a thousand moms, if they gave me my choice."
I'm sure Halloween is just one memory of fun times with her. I bet Christmas was filled with laughter as well. And perhaps it's because of Joyce you write so many birthday poems. I bet she was a wiz at lighting the candles.
But it's October, and just 3 weeks from Halloween night...
"You sewed or made sure all your kids had costumes every year."
Nicely penned!
Thanks for sharing.
Hugs,
Kimbob
