Amen! How I wish the country as a whole would embrace "patriotism" over democrat, republican or other...
If we started from THERE, perhaps we could have dialogues instead of warring political divisions!

So...there are at least TWO of us who aren't subscribing to "hate thy neighbor due to their political affiliations"--
We're on a roll!

Thanks Jessi. The original picture is more inspiring. It was snapped during the celebration of V-E Day 1945 in Times Square, NYC. It is a once in a lifetime picture. The woman was identified, but the sailor is questionable. They did not have another meeting.

but it does favor true, loyal Americans. People who love their country, who are proud to be Americans. People who put hand over heart and say the pledge of allegiance. People who don't burn it.

Mark, with what --44 days until the election--I think many of us are thinking of the country and flag we love. I listen to the Star Spangled Banner played before an NFL game and I get teary-eyed. Thanks for reminding us of all this. Rod

Rod, Yesi, I too get emotional when they sing that and America, the Beautiful!
More of us should think what our flag means to all the residents of our great country.

I enjoyed this very much. As a red blood in American and one who served in the military, I could not see how anyone could look at the flag and not honor it and honor our country.

And we all have red blood!

I love this! Unfortunately, a major portion of our country has forgotten this truth. I am praying that after November we can find a way back to this belief. Nice job.
