This is a lovely 20 syllable poem contest entry. Best of luck in the contest. Your words cut through the clutter of life and remind us of some very important facts. In a very few words you extol the virtues of every person who has ever lived. What happens in our lives is determined largely by the choices we make. We are not victims and we are not victors but we can choose to be one or the other, and we do. Thanks for the reminder.

I'm glad to hear that in so few words I obtained the effect I was going for. Honestly, I'm not used to writing very short poems- I tend to write poems that are at least 3 stanzas- so this made me happy. It's nice to know that even when outside of my comfort zone, I can still make an impact with my writing.
