That is a really magical nonet, Sarah. The words speak of a beauty, a lady who a goddess. I can get an idea of how your children's book will look and sound like. This is lovely. Well done and good luck in the contest. :) Sandra xx

Sarah,

What a beautiful poem. This is a great Nonet poem and if flows nicely to completion. There is a word I don't understand in here: Rubis? What is it?

Great job and good luck in your contest.

Cecilia

🤣 nothing personal Cecilia, this is also an ancestral fetish stone of the kings and queens, the verse was metaphorical,
    Many thanks,

Ciao and welcome to fanstory!

I saw the film and Elizabeth Taylor was stunning ( Joan Collins nearly got the part ). Even Richard Burton was perfect as Marc' Antonio.

I love how you describe her beauty referring to precious gems.
Her sweet voice to a mandolino and her scent to Oud & Spice

My favorite lines that describe her beauty, strength and powerful character :

she's a goddess
lioness

PS. Just one suggestion, you need to use a bigger font because many elderly members will find it hard to see/read your lovely poetry.

Nicely done! The way you weave together descriptions of voice, lips, scent and more create a beautiful portrait. The choice of words like "lioness" and "goddess" adds a layer of depth to the portrayal. Great job on crafting such a unique poem!

A fine nonet for the contest and you describe Cleopatra who was also clever and cunning too, I enjoyed your post. I have one suggestion for you. If you transpose lines six and seven you make a better shape for your nonet. Love Dolly x x x

    Dear Dolly,
    Thanks for the compliment,
However i have tried to transpose line 6 and line 7 and i couldn?t get a 4-3-2-1 result in number of syllables necessary for the Nonet style: a lioness is 4 and a goddess is 3 ... it was very difficult to make it all rhyme though,
Thanks a million for all your interest in the poems,
    Take care Dolly,
    Warm wishes,
    Sarah

    How about:
Her sweet voice a sound of mandolins,
Her precious lips ranks of rubis,
Her scent of Oud and spices,
    Rare her eyes of onyx,
    Soft her golden skin,
    she's a goddess
    lioness
    that is
    her.

I wish you luck with the contest x x x
