Beautifully expressed. A moving, delightful read.
I have to think this is descriptive of a real life experience.
I hope you are both, in your different ways, assisted by what transpired during your journey.

I am moved so deeply I am near tears -- your free verse is sublime, the story of how you found your faith fantastic -- may God keep you and your loved ones held closely, now and always. Congratulations on a well-deserved win.

Awesome! Isn't He incredibly wonderful? He loves us so much He stepped down from Glory to embrace the cross on our behalf, to pay its price to free us to be with Him forever.
John 5:24 tells us whoever has trusted Him has everlasting life right now.
Amazing grace!
God bless you, Dennis Clough

Congratulations on your well-deserved win of the faith poetry contest. I enjoyed reading your skillful short sentences that told the story of love, faith, and deliverance. You creatively asked God to make your son the 'same,' and closed your poem admitting you were no longer the 'same.' Well done.

You recount a remarkable and harrowing story. For me it's even more powerful in poetic prose because jagged edges of raw emotions aren't softened by end rhymes and metre.
If this is personal, I'm truly happy that your son recovered, and that you got more than you bargained for. The epiphany you describe is the true miracle of this write. In my view it's a rare and precious thing. Reminds me of my grandson's answer when I asked why he wanted to go to church. "For the feeling", he said.
Congratulations on winning the contest.
Blessings, Julia

Thank you so much Julia! I appreciate your thoughtful feedback on the poem. This was a personal poem, and your comment about the true miracle is spot
on. My humble thanks again. God bless!

Witnessing your child suffer pierces your heart. I speak from experience. It was an act of courage to share your story because you had to relive it as you wrote. Wishing you God? s continued blessings.

Hi B A,
This is a good free verse story in a poem. It shows that good things can come out of bad things. It is good that you prayed when you needed him.
I am glad everything came out ok for mother and son.
Congrats on winning the contest.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Have a great day.

Excellent entry for the Faith Poetry Contest. Many people try to make a deal with God. There's nothing worse for parents than seeing her and his child suffer.
Well done
