It's always a great pleasure to celebrate love that has lasted a long time. We all find different ways to do it.
They all are equally true when they are given from the heart. This very evident when what is given holds true the character ofctge giver.
Such a true gift is seldom understood for hiw genuine it really is.
Well done.

RJ this means the world to me as I am feeling actually bad about writing it since not many are understanding that it was done out of love and just done in the method that my stories are written. Thanks so much

You are very welcome.

I have a little bit of a weird sense of humor so I found this funny. Especially since we did have an eight ball at home as a kid. We were not allowed to use it for real questions but for games and to have fun with. Weebles must have come around later, but I thought this was adorable. I always love your little morsels of fun and quirkiness. You make me laugh and sometimes I am not even sure why I am laughing. It's just that fun. Thank you again for this adorable little tale and my husband will love it too, love, Debi

You are great. Thank you for doing that for us. I am glad that you are letting people know that I told you to add it when you showed it to me.

This is about a great couple of people, so no jokes here. Thank you for memorializing Debi and Glen in your usual witty way. See-both of us can be sincere and also witty!

I'm not so sure it's going over well. People aren't getting my humor or the reason for me being humorous for this occasion but Debi requested it lol

I'm glad you're not a sourpuss. All at FS have different reasons to write and ways of writing. We can help one another, but there is no need to ignore or criticize anyone for their style.

Debi and Glen are sharing a might amazing feat. Like, two people staying together for fifty years without one killing the other. Happy 50th Anniversary, Debi and Glen!

I'll admit, it took a "beat" to understand this tribute to Debi and Glen...
Turning to the Bible, I thought of this:
1 Corinthians 13:11-12 ~~
"11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 12 For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known."
Those who enter into matrimony when young set aside their childhood aspirations and embark on what they hope will be a lifelong journey.
Looking back on the wisdom and love of fifty years, I believe Debi and Glen can smile that Magic 8 Balls and Weebles were never the things they needed...
Patience, Faith, Hope ~~
Back to my Bible to find:
1 Corinthians 13:13 ~ New International Version
"... And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."
I share your congratulations to Debi and Glen!

Thanks for trying to understand my weird tribute. Debi insisted that I put it in the book even though I told her it was an odd tribute because in order for it to be humorous in one my stories it would have to poke fun at their age. It was all meant in good wishes. Debi reads all of my 55 word stories so she gets me lol Thanks for reading :-)

OH, isn't this the magic of writing, Marilyn? It's an unwritten contract between author and reader that each will cull from the words that which they need! Very nice of you to add to Debi's and Glen's tribute!
:)

oh absolutely! I'm glad you found your own take on my weirdness. lol I appreciate you very much! :-)

Back at ya!

What a terrific story! The symbolism of burying their favorite childhood toys shows the innocence and joy of their youth. The twist of the Magic 8 Ball running out of predictions is just perfect on this 50th anniversary. What a terrific story!
