Oh, my...

Much too fresh and yet I feel the sincerity of your heart as you began to write this...

Grief has its own time schedule.

Dwell in the happy memories and feel all your feelings!

She looks like a warm and loving "Granny."

So sorry for your loss!

Karenina

Thank you Karenina!! We still feel her in this home and in all our shared memories here, but she really was ready to go. She'd been through so much trying to stay independent. In the end, she gave up and told us all good-bye.

    Hugs,
    Rhonda

I understand. She seemed to know when it was her time to leave this earth and go to a place of grace!

Thank you for the review and comments, Teri. Yes, she was a dear, and is being missed terribly, but she really has struggled with her health the past 6 weeks and was in a lot of pain. She went fast once she decided to give up the fight. She died around family.

I had a lovely mother-in-law as well. Lovely heartfelt piece expressing the wish to celebrate but the difficulty of overcoming grief to get those exact words out there.

Yes, I'm sure it is much too soon to write for Mildred, but the moments you've shared will still be there when you are ready to write about them. An emotional one for you Rhonda, sending a ð?¤? hug.

    Hi Pearl,
Thank you so much for the encouraging review. It ended up being too soon, but I so hoped to have something more fitting ready. It will come, though, thank you!!

You have written a lovely tribute to your mother-in-law. The portrait you shared shows a kind and beautiful lady. One can see the love shining in her eyes. I'm sorry for your loss.

Thank you so much for the double review. Yes, Mildred was a sweet and kind lady. In the picture, I had just fixed her hair as she couldn?t get out any more to get it done professionally. I?d always take a picture afterwards to send her daughter, lol.
    Thanks again,
    Rhonda

I'm so sorry for your loss. You honor her with this beautiful poignant
poem. It really expresses the heartbreak of losing someone you love.
I hope with time the hurt you feel now will be eased by fond memories.

Nancy, thank you for your kind review. Loss is never pretty, though she truly had gone through a lot trying to snap back, yet again, from terrible health issues.
    Take care,

Short, but not so short to keep eyes from tearing. It is very well written and displays your love for the recipient. A lot was said in just a
few lines. Willie

Willie, thank you so much for your compassionate review. Typically, I write way more than I should. I admire the poets, or flash fiction writers can say so much in so few words. This time, it's all I had.
    Take care,

So sorry for the loss of your mother-in-law. Such a fitting tribute for the loss of someone you love. I'm sure it made Mother's Day even harder because of the freshness of this painful loss. I can see her sweetness in her picture.

    Hi my friend,
I'm so glad to hear from you. I've missed you. Mother's Day was pretty sad, though my husband and his 5 siblings got together Saturday to celebrate her life. It made it easier, in some ways, as they focused on the positive. But, I was the one to take care of her the past two years where she battled health issues, so it was hard for me to relate to their fun memories.
    Take care,
    Rhonda
