Not a problem. I'm sorry you had to read it when no monies attached. I do appreciate you reading. Thank you.

Oh wow, what an exciting chapter. You've woven several scenes together and that's always difficult, but you handled it well.

So... what is Ryan Brown doing where he doesn't belong??? Up to no good, I'd say.

Great job,
Rhonda

Most dogs do not like storms. They perceive the potential dangers storms can produce.

Seems Sami is blaming herself for Myra's disappearance.

Appears Noah is quite the controller in almost everything done and what the others are allowed to say.

Even in the safe house, with Noah's army present, perhaps Sami is not safe.

Ending heightens the story line.

Thank you for the kind review. Yes, Noah has a control issue. I think Sami is capable of softening it.

That's a hilarious picture! And it is true even the big dogs have their own phobias. The storm was able to give Noah and Sami some time alone together!
I wonder who this Brown is. Did he come as part of the "tech team"? Is he somehow related the the human trafficking group?
It's good that Sami remembered him.
I'm glad you brought up Myra and her birthday to keep the thread of the story going.

That was a 6 but I didn't have one. I really like your style and easy narrative. Your writing reminds me of Charles Martin, one of my favorites who also tackles this subject. I did not see anything that needed to be changed but expect you are going to edit anyways....Great captivating story and characters. Esther

Thank you for the encouragement. A virtual six is just as good.

Well written in your classic style. Everyone is friendly and concerned about your MC and the dog all at the same time. Super nice. You have some danger at the end. I was surprised at the lack of handcuffs on their person.

Very nice writing.

Damn, I used all of my sixes. This was one of the best chapters so far. The talk about Myra between Sami and Sarah brought the focus back on the missing girls. Then the two very distinct faces of Jasper. Terrified and whimpering because of the storm, then baring his teeth at the tech guy. This was a well rounded chapter. Gretchen

Another fine addition to the Sami Saga. Ha!

It has been a tough week. Your story brightened things up.

This paragraph cracked me up:

Noah stood as he studied his team, before he could say anything, Bob said, "We already know this will never be discussed."

Great job.

Good ending that leaves the reader wondering what will happen next! I only got snagged in a couple of places.
"When she answered, she asked, 'I'm glad to see you but I figured..." It too me a minute to figure out that it was probably Sami doing the asking.
"It had to deal with me wanting to help teenage girls." Should it be "..had to do with..."?
"If we knew, we could've arrested them." Seems like it should be, "If we had known..."
Good work! I feel what you're saying about changing a text every time you look at it. But all that polishing pays off.

I'm going through a novel right now from my publisher's editor and still wanted to change a few things as I read.

It's often hard how to best decide who is in charge, but I'm come to the conclusion years ago that the person holding the gun is in charge, at least for the time being. LOL. Thanks for sharing.
