Wow, the show must go on. Allysa is faked dead, Layla is on her trails and somehow ended up with someone who can help trace her, and now the Chief shows his true colors. What a show:)

The dialogue throughout this novel is phenomenal. Most of the story is revealed through realistic conversation rather than straight narrative. Almost every character has an ulterior motive and cannot be trusted, from Richard, Layla, Alyssa, Jake, Tommy, and even Troy, who wants truth and revenge. I'm sure the next chapter will bring even more surprises.

The blending of good and evil - an excellent sub-title, as the ones who are supposed to be upright aren't, and vice versa. A dramatic chapter with a fast pace. I am betting that Alyssa's bracelet was planted on the body in the river. Great writing.

This is blasting along so fast I can't keep up. This seems to have started with Sandra. Who is she? Troy is a good cop that has a bad man Richard as his brother who is so bad and grabbing for so much power that he had his own brother sent to prison, and shot at. He is currently chief of police. Penny is a nice lady who is clean and works for Richard.Alyssa is a clean cop who suspected bad doings, she put herself undercover, and is now missing. Tommy is as bent as a bad copper can be. he used to be good and friends with Terry who became a priest. Frank is a leader in the underworld, not sure who is higher up the food chain, Richard or him? Sammy is Franks #1. Jake is Troy's friend and undercover FBI. Tyler who we haven't seen much of is NYC detective Layla a fashion designer, first consulted about her sister Alyssa. Layla came here to find her missing sister. Antonio is a hood not high up the food chain, and Marcos is for hire as whatever. Have I kept up?:-) Karen
