Authentic sounding. Good dialogue. Good writing.
But I think Miranda should lay off the Oreos (after today) and maybe even take up some sort of exercising. She's too young to let herself go.
Best wishes.

I don't think she's letting herself go. I think she's just seeing how her body is changing with age. Adjusting to a new phase of life, so to speak. Thank you for this fabulous review. Gretchen

Just the description the the tight jeans is enough to get my vote on this chapter, and then you made me run out and get some Oreos that I haven't had in years. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

You're about the fifth person to chastise me for making them want oreos. Lol. They are my go to snack. Lol. Thank you for this fun review. Gretchen

I think I found this by mistake. I may have reviewed the chapter after this one, first. Was this after the phone call from Missy or before? No spags anyway. Well done, again.

This was before the phone call. The phone call was the next morning. Thank you for this great review. Gretchen

I seriously love this book. It is so simply just plain fantastic. I love the way just when Miranda gets pushed to her limit, you bring her back from the edge in the coolest, sweetest possible ways. This was a perfect, touching chapter. Her boys were exactly what she needed, exactly the way they would have responded. You're masterful at keeping your characters true to their natures. That's no easy task.
For this chapter, my favorite part was Miranda coming home to her horrible trailer park after an absolutely atrocious day and thinking, "It's my little slice of heaven." She's a bulldozer, and that's why I enjoy her so much. She could have such a victim/downer of a personality, but, instead, she is a champion. I root for her every single minute.

Thank you so much. I truly feel that Miranda would see her small trailer as heaven. Thank you for this sweet review. I appreciate all of your feedback. And the six. Gretchen

Yessss! She totally would, and that's what endears her to me the most: she's so low-maintenance and AUTHENTIC!!

Yay, for Aaron! He knew what to say and what not to say and even reassured Miranda of his support through her difficult time. I also liked his answer about not being on anyone's side!
I was briefly confused about who was talking at the end but I guess Waylon had left the scene by then.

You did a great job with the after effects of the bar meeting
Miranda and Missy had, Gretchen. I loved the discussion she
had with her reflection. It was hilarious--esp the jeans part.
Your words were well thought out and very descriptive. I could
see everything as I read. Waylon and Aaron seemed to have
bonded over the common denominator of Miranda. They both
care for her and want the best for her. The Oreo scenes were
funny. From the title, I believe you are referring to John and Yoko
and their peace love in. So, maybe that's Miranda and Aaron.
Thanks for sharing, Jan

This story continues to impress.
One catch:
red line around my waist. This never used happen. Getting old sucks.
(Missing a word after 'used')
Very interesting story. I'm looking forward to the next piece!

I like the way you describe the thoughts of someone writing through the eyes of the first person protagonist Gretchen. She's a nice girl, a good character, one would feel safe with her as a friend, probably incapable of committing a heinous crime. Beautifully written my friend, blessings Roy
Typo : this never used (to) happen.

Attractive character

LOL This is a cute post. Miranda isn't always as tough as she wants to make people believe she is. She does have a soft vulnerable side. I enjoyed that coming out. Thank you for sharing. I really like this story.

This is a great chapter. I felt like I was there throughout her conversation with herself and the boys. She is having all the doubts and fears and asking all the questions any one might ask.She realizes now how lucky she is to have them in her life. She needs their support. Well done, Gretchen. Nancy:)
