Oh no! I hope Miranda has her game face on and knows how to deal with Missy's "backhanded compliments." Did she let Waylon know who she's meeting and why? At least, Waylon knows the place in case they have to go hunt for her.

This is a great plot and solid story line.
Only one suggestion this time:
He doesn't argue just gives a non-committal shrug. "Thought you had to work today."
(comma after argue)
Great work here. You are a fantastically descriptive writer! Keep up the great work.

Great piece of work!

Another winner, to be sure. Love the line about how tight her jeans are! Hahaha. I like, later on, that Missy squeezes her tighter than her jeans are. Hahaha there, too!
Miranda and Waylon have reached a comfortable state that seems natural and real.
I can't wait to see who out foxes the other @ The Sand Bar! (My money's ALWAYS on Miranda...but Missy's got that polished, professional edge of a narcissist. (Now I picture her as your former work team staff and shudder even more.)

That's who I based it on. Though, my nemesis hasn't possibly killed anyone. Lol. Just a royal pain. Gretchen

Sometimes we find ourselves in situations where we can't trust anyone, or shouldn't. The less said the better, to anyone. And those who seem the least dangerous, are usually the most. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you, Ric. I appreciate this very much. Miranda seems to jump before she looks to see how deep the water is. Gretchen

This out to be interesting. A meeting with someone like Missy can't be something that's necessarily to one's own advantage, one thing that marks the narcissist is it's hard to outthink them, they think the world's their oyster. One thing when you're my age, anyone under 50...look young. Well done Gretchen, blessings Roy

I don't trust this outing with Missy. I am worried Miranda will somehow get into trouble. I am hoping Mitch will come to her aid. I really like this story and you're doing a good job writing it.

No worries, Barbara. Miranda is pretty good at getting out of trouble. She hasn't been in the back of a squad car yet. Lol. Thanks so much for this great review. Gretchen

I've known women like that, the ones who seemingly say something nice about you but always have to add that little zinger. This meeting is going to interesting.

They are the kind that tell you to come up to their level only to keep adding steps. No time for that kind of friend. Thanks so much for this excellent review. Gretchen

An interesting turn of events. I'm wondering how long Miranda will be able to keep up her facade with Missy. An enjoyable chapter. I thought I saw another post. Best, JohnC

I just hope Miranda is sensible here. Missy is very two-faced, and not to be trusted, and Miranda knows that - but is very direct and calls a spade a spade, which will probably land her in trouble. I'm very suspicious of Missy having done (or organised) another murder .... somehow. Keep the chapters flowing. Love your writing.

The last thing Miranda wants to do is spend time with Missy
Toblerone, but she needs to do that to fish for information
which just might take the suspicion of murder off herself. She believes Missy murdered her own husband. I don't know how she connects Missy with Ed's murder but we know Miranda didn't do it even though she did threaten him with the scissors that seem to be the murder weapon. Good Job, Gretchen!Nancy:)

I think you're on to something. Miranda does suspect Missy in Ed's murder. But who knows. Thanks for this great review. Gretchen
