Fingerprints on a murder weapon could implicate her whether she is guilty of the crime or not.
So true about the news just making stories up, whatever sells the most copies truth or not.
Sounds like Miranda is about to uncover a deep secret.

Between the cop, Miss Fine, and now Missy ... something's going to pop soon, I do believe. I loved your use of the line: "Her tobacco stained teeth look like crooked fence pickets." Yes, you do conjure up the images, Gretchen.

You may very well be right. Something will pop very soon. Thanks for your continued support and encouragement. Gretchen

I think Missy might be the person setting up Miranda, but...then I wonder if there's somebody, we know nothing about. I don't think it's Aaron because he's in love with her or Waylon, he needs her. Of course, her ex, but he's in another town. Her boss??? I doubt it, or the girl she works with, doesn't have the nerve. Of course, Mitch, but I think they might be a relationship growing. I do like this story.

My money is on Missy. But honestly, I can't second guess any of these characters. Thanks so much for this awesome review. Gretchen

It would be scary to be framed. Hopefully, it will all come out okay. Catch me up, please. Why does she think this woman might be the one who's framing her? Gotta like Mrs. Fine. lol.

She thinks Missy killed her (Missy's) husband who disappeared without a trace. Knows her from high school. Miranda goes by gut feeling. Has a bad feeling about Missy. Thanks for the input and nice review. Gretchen

It sure looks like poor Miranda might be in trouble, but seeing it would be an impossibility for this particular character to commit murder, but the person she's meeting with is a possibility. Beautifully written Gretchen, blessings Roy

Thank you, Roy. Miranda is good at thinking on her feet. Just hope Missy doesn't catch on. Gretchen

Sure sounds like good advice from the "old battle axe!" I was suspecting Missy all along but will Miranda be safe with Missy? Will Waylon be home or Aaron when they meet? Will Miranda meet Mitch afterwards?

Miranda may keep this little "girl's night out " to her self. Thanks for the great review. Gretchen

Yes, Missy is the obvious one - but perhaps too obvious. Neverthelss it's not looking good for Miranda. Your story is engaging, and I am looking forward to seeing the next chapter - and who they bring up from the pond.

Missy, Yes, That's who I was considering. Mainly because of the remarks Marinda made about her missing Husband. Or the missing husband, just to shut her up either way. I don't like Missy. There is a missy in every town it seems. Poor Marinda. She is being set up, but I think the Detective understands this. Well done, Gretchen. Nancy:)

Thank you very much, Nancy. I honestly don't know what's going to happen with Miranda or Missy from one chapter to the next. I'm just along for the ride. Lol. Thank you for the stars. Gretchen

Another good, short read. Plenty of drama, still. I thought your chapters were usually a bit longer. Did you go through my re-lists I think you might have. No spags.

I did cut this one a little short but I didn't want to pad the scene just for length. And yes, I did read your work. Finally fanned you so I will get updates. Thank you very much for reading and your comments. Gretchen

Now you've got us readers guessing who could possibly be trying to set Miranda up, but she has the perfect personality to set people off about things. Great chapter! Thanks for sharing.

She does rub some people the wrong way. Thanks so much for this great review. Gretchen

Don't we all rub someone the wrong way. And when I know that I can, I rub harder.

We may have been separated at birth. Lol. Gretchen

I've actually thought that as I've choked on my tongue laughing at some of your fine lines. LOL.
