The uncle on the bottom of the lake would be an enticing mystery.
"horse power" should be horsepower.
Good question about how Aaron can afford both trucks. Answered by a loan from his father (maybe?)
Waylon with a weapon in school. That came out of the blue. But, definately will lure readers back to see what happens next.

Well, if anyone can talk him out of this fix, it's Miranda, who just becomes more lovable with every chapter. And, little by little, Waylon is seeing her virtue, too. Aaron, well, he's still pretty vacant. But what's cool about Miranda is that she lets him be who he is and just goes on about her business. She's very accepting but with a cryptic little sense of humor about it.
You're being so good with carrying the pace right along while not "rushing" it. The progression seems very realistic, and the characters continue to grow with each new chapter. You're doing SO great with this, Gretchen! I continue to absolutely love reading this book. xo

I'm a 'noticer.' I think it's from years and years of reading mysteries and getting that 'hinky' feeling when I need to remember something important.

It would be tough being stuck with someone else's child, cleaning up the mess that some parents have made. It's funny when one is an actual parent, not understanding why folk would dump a child, it's a tough gig loving someone, particularly abandoned people, this will find Miranda out, my bet she can't leave Waylon to the dogs. Waylon. I believe he took the weapon to school hoping to
get caught. Maybe he thought that way his dad would contact

Thank you so much, Jay. This is very unlike me as far as story telling goes. I used to get characters in my head. I'd follow them and let them tell me their story. This one comes to me in full blown scenes. It's weird, but it's working. I appreciate any and all feedback that you give me. Gretchen

You may be entering a new stage in creative evolution. I don't know any more than you, but to me, you have to be alert to these changes and work with them, but not force them. That's how we keep growing as artists. Doesn't that make some kind of sense?
