Very good, I like this character! She doesn't come cheaply and she's not afraid to speak her mind and stand up for herself. I'm enjoying it a lot, and looking forward to the next.

Go Miranda!! She never disappoints. She doesn't go overboard, but she manages to work really well with what she's been given. I also like her conversation/digs with Missy. I hope there's validation in her "theory" coming along at some point!!
Anyway, another wonderful job with this story I'm thoroughly enjoying!

Missy is going to pop in and out of this story. But who knows if she killed her husband or not. Remember everyone calls her the alleged killer. Lol. I have no idea other than she is an obvious burr under Miranda's saddle. But thank you for the fabulous review and comments. And the stars! Shant forget the stars.

Miranda is an extremely sympathetic character, one can't help but like her, and she probably doesn't need Matt, mean blokes who don't know how to judge character and don't particularly like being in business, need people who can. Beautifully written Gretchen, blessings Roy

Your chapter read well, Gretchen. It seemed little real
progress was made with Waylon. Hopefully, he will see
things have to change, and he has to want them to.
Miranda was trying hard to get Waylon on the right track.
The conversation in the supermarket was well written
with great info. Yes, there are always those know it alls
and gossip mongers. I'm thrilled Miranda stood up to Matt.
He is a big baby and Rita is out in la la land.
Thanks for sharing, Jan

Thank you so much. Thirteen year olds are a tough bunch. They are a mass of confusing hormonally charged children. Who knows, Waylon might surprise you. Thank you for your wonderful review. Gretchen

Woohoo! That Miranda knows how to bargain and make the most of the opportunity! Great chapter!
I really liked the description of Waylon's posture at the bus stop like a condemned criminal. Great observation about the spreading nature of rumors, true or not.
Suggestions:
very odd behavior, to me. (no comma)
weeks worth of deposits (week's)

I am very glad Miranda stood up to her ex now currant boss. I am sure things will eventually work out with Wayne and it will be an interesting read until they do. I like this story.
But by the next morning, (the following morning)
"Give me a second,"she says as she tries to put something in the safe (space needed after ending quotation mark)
"Talk to him like you're married to him," I laugh. (period after 'him')

Thank you so much for the grammatical help. I sure do appreciate it. Glad you are liking this story. Gretchen

As always, your characters are so believable. Carbon copies of people and settings that most all of us have known at sometime in our lives. Makes me want to pick up a grape or orange Crush, bag of nuts, a Moonpie, and punch one of the punks waiting outside to bum money.
Thanks for sharing.

This was another great read. A couple of spags but as usual I don't mark down when I like the story. [And] Patterson County...ands and buts are not permitted at the start of sentences.
Rita is manning t(he)[o] register.

Ohhhh, expensive or not, I do like Miranda Jessup Buckley. You got this story by the tail and you can shake it in whatever direction you want. Is there a little bit of Gretchen in Miranda? Or is Miranda how you'd like to see yourself? Either way, Miranda is in charge!

Miranda's mouth is very much like mine. It has a mind of its own. Also, she's probably got a Virgo rising. She's very suspicious. I just have much better choice in men. Lol. Thanks so much for your incredibly entertaining review. Lol. Gretchen

Good for Miranda! Maybe things are going to change for the better now. It is good to know you are needed. She has him at a disadvantage now. He knows he needs her. The Lord provides. Well done, Gretchen. I am enjoying your story. Nancy:)

Thank you, Nancy. This is fun to write. Miranda says and does all the things I can't. Lol. Kind of liberating. Thank you for the great review and the stellar rating.
