Ha! I have so many ideas for children stories. I Google the title before I write them. All be damned if most of them have been written. It's crazy! I still think there's more to discover. My favorite "original" saying? Fuck it and cheers! My friend said that in a voicemail to her soon to be ex and we've used it every since. You heard it here first (hopefully)! AKA ð??? and ð??». But my emojis will not show correctly.

So nice to see you again--what a delightful ssssssurprise!

I'd like to claim independent coinage of bass-ackwards, but it may have been lurking subconsciously. Cheers. LIZ

It's legally permissible to use a title that is not original; titles can't be copyrighted. Indeed, if you glom onto something famous you'll sell lots via Amazon!

I first heard the word bass ackwards when my uncle Dean used to accuse me of doing things that way. He would say, "Boy, do you have to always be doing that bass ackwards." It didn't matter what I was doing. That was around 58.

As always, you've given me my daily chuckle! I like your new takes. You should put copyright on them. I don't know what else to say. Keep on keeping on.

HAHAHA I'm giving this a SIX. Maybe it's not "deep" but it's written perfectly with the perfect amount of humor. It had me laughing inside haha.

Good job. I needed a good chuckle ;)

Well, when I read it, I was going to inform you that I had already heard that inventive mix of words from someone in college in 1977 so I knew you didn't invent it. But isn't Google great for checking out usage? Fun language post!

It just goes to prove that great minds move in the same circles... My own father used "bass-ackwards" all the time (probably referring to something I'd done now that I think of it)---it was unintentional plagiarism, if that...
you're right your newest isn't as catchy and (I hesitate to say) to ME is has sexual undertones...but good for you for getting back on the horse! In high school I wrote a paper for Advanced Placement English and used the phrase "for all intensive purposes"---which gave my teacher a good chuckle since it's known to the rest of humans as "for all intents and purposes." It took me about a semester to live THAT down! Welcome to the "I was sure I had that "write" RIGHT" club! (No membership fees.)--
Too cute!--Karenina

Absence makes the HARD grow LONGER--sexual overtones! YA THINK?

All intensive purposes has 136 MILLION google hits!

Yeah. Definitely have to agree with that one! But I love the way you think, Liz. But then, you must remember, that whoever came up with the other words, got them in the same place you did, just at a different point in time. Big deal. They all come from the collective consciousness :). You just pulled the same fish out of the pond. Maybe I should say "ocean," as it were...
So, you really are Genius! And we all know it too! And love you for it!

Are you saying that bass-akwards has had 271,00 hits? You did make that up? I don't understand the rest of it where you say the one you didn't make up. Anyway, brilliant.

I didn't make up back-asswards, nor had I heard of when I "made up" bass-ackwards.

ok. I read it again and you said "I came up with" so I assumed you made it up.

How very deflating to discover such a crowded Google response to your inventive wordplay. Your competitive spirit is to the fore in coming up with something Google hasn't heard of - yet. I'm sure you can scramble a few more duck eggs for our reading delight.

Perhaps your new 'truism' based on the old saying 'absence makes the heart grow fonder', should more correctly be termed an "erectrospective plagiarism"!

Perhaps your ""bass-akwards" should have a 'c' in it? ("bass-ackwards.)

    Lovely ssssssurprise!

I hope I didn't misspell in the search--if it got that many hits for a typo version ? !(actually, google is smart enough to correct for it.

Sometimes I come up with I think is a brilliant phrase but when I check it there it is, already invented... bugger.
