You make your point very well, in a number of ways, with evidence.
"The truth is not in some dead sea scroll" will annoy, perhaps repulse several on this site, but that is not of consequence to me.
I understand agape and self-less love without ego and true equality and fereting through our minds to disgard all that is illusion. I think I dated that guy once.
I don't want to spend my life in that space though.
The messiness of passion and emotion defines life for me more than the truest of scientific facts. I wouldn't have it any other way.

I see no mess in passion nor emotion. I just like to know what caused them. Thanks a bunch...John

I understand what you're saying.
But understanding everything leaves no mystery.
For me, mystery is an aphrodisiac :)
Could fear be, in part, behind the need to understand everything? Even if we understood everything in this world and beyond it, we couldn't avoid tragedy.
Thank you for your work...it made me think.

very powerful uplifting spiritual message. I liked the use of formal rhymes schemes and format. i like
The question is who will attend
The world premiere of Honesty
It makes a path we can ascend
Ignoring it is travesty the most

Dear Cogitator, Some of the things you say make sense.
others do not. There is no question that you are a seeker of truth. But the truth is a simple thing, and you have made finding it so complicated.
At least your excellent writing, tries to explain how you arrive at it.

I think this poem is a little preachy, but I still enjoyed reading it. Its rhyming scheme works well, and you have conveyed your idea thoroughly.
Well done.

I fully agree with most of what you wrote. I try to live my life,by ordering my step according to the accurate knowledge that I achieve by reading God's word. Yes I am religious, but not blind to the realities of life here and now. I am 77 years of age and what I have found to be universally true is that truth is solid and evidential. What I mean by that is simply, that if we view that a surface, like a slab of concrete is hard, we can prove the truth of that by testing it against a solid force. Truth stands up against accusations against it. Lies cannot withstand vigorous investigation.

Letting go
Truth is Best

Hello, my friend,
It's human nature to wonder what happens after we die. Many hold on to faith and believe there is a heaven and a hell after we die. Others believe in science and this is what your poem is about. Interesting poem. The red font on light green background is hard to read.

Surprising poem! It shows many truths totally naked of adjectives and complex words. There are hidden (and explicit) advices for the readers, simply expressing that as title shows clearly "Truth is the Best (Policy)",
My Mum taught us that: "tell the truth and forget it; if you tell a lie, remember it very well". Again, Truth is best!"

Definitely a thought provoking poem! If I had read this in my twenties I imagine glossing over it and not "catching" it at all. The years do bring wisdom. I like the "if we become the director we can edit the final version." Such am important thing to remember!
