Oh I was shocked by the end of your poem. I never know what's coming when I log on to one of your poems. That's what makes it interesting. Liked the author notes and John Steinbeck's quote. You certainly put a lot time and effort into your work. Jeep writing I enjoy reading. Regards Dorothy

Utterly and devastatingly awesome! The whole experience was like a 12 for me. The poem is so flawlessly crafted and while not my style tending to be more of a heavenly kind of creature - it was "da bomb". Thank you so much for sharing this with me.

Politics, banking...
Where thier at.
I think the same thing
Pain, makes them laugh.
Politics, banking....
They wear the masks.
Who gave them power
Who gave them control
Same peeps on Black Friday.....
I call them....
Trolls
WE ALL ARE IN THE DARK.

You posit a poignant question. All you need to do is read the paper or watch the news to know the truth in what you say. And could the evil reside within our own selves? I think the historical evidence in such persons as Adolph Hitler, Joseph Stalin, and Mao Tse Tung , prove that whole societies can be turned to evil when it is allowed to flourish. Great write. Well crafted. Superb rhyme and verse.

Honestly, Dean, I've been wondering where
you were with your dark poems, and was quite
prepared not to shiver when I saw one in
my PM's, but you never fail to give me
the creeps.

I have met some mean devious people in my time but nothing like what you describe here LOL. Thank goodness. I think John Steinbeck said it right! This took forever to load on my dial up and I only got bits and pieces of your music. I miss a lot but it's cheap. LOL
Good Job. Nancy

This is a very strong, yet deep poem, DK. I have a friend who is partially like this. Some wonder why I'm friends with him. He's my friend, because I see past his darkness. I see what's hidden deep inside him. I believe that even those who seem like they care about nothing and no one, cares about something. Even if that something is very small and they hide it very well. I don't think that there can be a person that doesn't care about anything at all, not even a little. Thanks for sharing this. ~ Rose

"I believe there are monsters born in the world to human parents... The face and body may be perfect, but if a twisted gene or a malformed egg can produce physical monsters, may not the same process produce a malformed soul?"
Hi Dean, I agree with you 100%, not a few, much more than a few, in the middle east in my country, so many are so superficial, hurtful, mean and ugly. That picture Dean with your deep feelings in this poem, is out of this world. I forced myself not carry with me their abuse. Hope you are fine. Hugs Terry

Hey Dean,
I think we all have souls, but there's a clinical explanation for people with no compassion. Can't think of the term at the moment. How right you are about people who lack love also lack self love.
Hugs,
Lou

I gotta say, Dean, that there must be a really dark place that you go to in order to write this stuff. I gave it six stars because it all goes together extremely well. I think it was the author's notes that did the final selling job on this one, but too much info can be a bad thing. The pictures and text go together very well. Thanks for sharing, Brent.
