Your verse is fun in an evil way. HA! The photo tells it all.

The little villain certainly did a number of dastardly deeds.
He had the attitude that would have caused reader's mom to lay hands on without prayer...

Sawyer is also a gifted actor as he could never do all those awful things. :) Perfect poem with a funny, imaginative story. Thanks for the smiles! Dennis

Beautifully written Brooke! Though it's meant to be suspenseful or creepy, I can't help but to smile at the picture of Sawyer alter ego you've created. Penned exceptionally well; I have no compliments and continue to admire your writings.

Wonderfully done, this puts a big smile on my face.

Only one suggestion...
He grabbed the hop away from frogs,
he swiped the sour from pickles,

I stumbled a bit on the pickles line...
you might consider: he swiped sour from the pickles.

I'm not sure why, but it seems to flow better (just me)

Thanks for a great read.

This is unique and just delightful. Such a mean one, that Leander! Thank goodness there is at least one--his mother--who can contain him.

Hi Brooke,

I just loved this! Of course your rhymes and meter were perfect, and the storyline is so cute. Every single stanza contains creative and whimsical verses - I couldn't possibly pick out any favorites.

Hugs,
Lou

Hahahahaha!!! that was funny! random but funny :D

Loved it all from top to bottom, I just love a good villian. Just wondering if there was a typo in this verse

He stole their honey from the bees

So clever.. I love it. It's ever so descriptive and the cadence kept me reading on. I love rhyming poetry and anything that keeps me reading.. This little naughty boy.. almost made me smile, but starlight's my limit as well.

Ha. I can see how this picture inspired you--
a whimsical character study in naughty.

Whenever robins laid their eggs,
he formed a plan to snatch them --
Leander looted every one
before their mothers hatched them. << My favorite.

The last stanza lets us know even though Leander, an epic evil character is breaking bad in the world of small animals, mother still has everything well in hand and can save the world from him.

Delightful.

That expression is absolutely priceless. Even tots have their evil and conniving ways, don't they? Yes, we can let them fuss and get it out of them, but there is a limit, as your clever poem conveys. We need to let them reach for the sky, but not steal the starlight that is every person's right to enjoy. This poem is a delightful read.
