This is why I admire you - your strength of character! And you credit your mother, another admirable thing to do! And despite the insult at the restaurant table, you agreed to eat at the kitchen where you met a new friend, the cook.
Those times are shameful and yet, during the previous administration this kind of prejudice was resurfacing due to the racially prejudiced rhetoric of that last president.
