Excellent! Such an important commentary and attitude to have while living life! It is so ugly and draining to retain the anger and be unwilling to forgive for a wrong-doing... it is called a mistake, because it was wrong... but people often don't accept responsibility for their mis-steps.. and mis-haps... but we are left bereft with anger --- and until we can forgive them, (certainly not condoning their behavior as you explained), we will be at war with ourselves... Very meaningful poem -- great advice, not only from a practical standpoint, but a spiritual one as well... Thanks for sharing and for your inspiration!

Hello Kahpot, A thought-provoking Acrostic. K, your poem read so smoothly that I did not realize it was an Acrostic until I saw that it was an Acrostic poetry contest, and that's a very good thing. You've penned a wonderful poem of forgiveness and acceptance. I especially liked:
Giving acceptance when doubt still divides
(My only after-thought was that you might consider using a word like "support or encouragement, etc." instead of acceptance. K, this is your poem, and I deduct no points for my personal point of view which is ... a person may forgive, but they will not forget--how can they erase something from their mind--and that's why I suggest words like "support or encouragement, etc." vs. acceptance ... and that is one of the great reasons why I've found your poem to be thought-provoking. Your photo choice complements your poem, and I like that it is a black and white photo for other symbolic reasons ... if only life was as simple as black and white, and there were no other colors to cloud our mind ... if only.
A poem of love, reconciliation, and hope for the future. As this is a contest entry, I wish you good luck. LateBloomer

Hi there,
Thank you for sharing your acrostic poem about forgiveness. You did a wonderful job with this poem and I loved the definitions found within each line. Each and every part of this piece relates to the theme of forgiveness.
My one suggestion would be to do an edit to use the Advanced Editor. Make the first letter of each line stand out - either make the font BOLD or use a different color to set it apart.

Hello, Kahpot. I see you won a contest recently. Good for you. You are very talented, indeed in my opinion.
This acrostic is good because it doesn't show signs of "strain" that I so often see in these pieces when the poet tries so desperately to find a rhyme and fit for each of the letters.
Bravo! Bob

A very well-written acrostic poem about forgiveness. We are all human and we need constant forgiveness from God and others. Sometimes we need to forgive ourselves too.

Forgiveness can be a very difficult journey to take for many friend. The abuse some have endured/survived is a path they never want to walk down again, in any way shape of form.
I did enjoy Your acrostic mate, it was nicely put together and read smoothly between lines(many struggle with that). The message was a strong one and points to a path/way where one could find peace and help others do the same... Nice!

Hi kahpot. This is a good entry for the contest. I had to forgive both of my parents. My dad for abandoning me, my mom for horrific abuse. You are absolutely right that forgiveness is not acquitally. It is clemency. Very well written poem. Thank you for sharing
