Hi Brooke, I've so missed reading your poems!
This one is full of charm and mischief - just what little boys are made of. LOL
Excellent rhyming scheme that flowed well and never seemed forced, I liked it a lot.

Regards, Barb

Ha,ha, this one made me smile Brooke, I think we have all came across a little Leander at some point in out lives, they are an enigma for sure and quite scary :) But once mum has had enough... It's all over. Cool story in poem friend!

This is a delightful poem that the author has created with this piece of writing. The writer tells the reader a poem as a nursery rhyme. It has a dark and sinister meaning, but it is told in a format that would appeal to the mind of a child.

A delightful poem as always. You make magic with your words. We all have the devil within us and it can be most obvious in the young. They destroy as they explore and seek out. Not that any of us can totally destroy anything. Do we not tend to transform whatever we lay our fingers on. So that by the time Leander is tucked into bed, we are still left wondering what exactly is evil? -Ekim777

Brooke, this is an utterly charming poem, and of course the picture of Sawyer is charming as well. (His attempt at an evil eye is not at all convincing.) Such pretty phrases about trying to pluck the silver from starlight. It is so satisfying to read your poems, knowing I'll never stumble over bad rhyme or meter or hackneyed phrases. Love and blessings, Jeanie

Hey, the boy looks serious! The poem flows sweetly and swiftly as it describes the character of an evil boy. Who removed or stole his heart? This is a story which describes what happens in a day to day situation. There are people who think, plan and act in the opposite way of what others consider to be normal. I like the message therein. I wish you the best in the contest.

I am enough of a traditionalist to really enjoy poetry that rhymes. I'm impressed with the creativity it takes to come up with a piece like this, keep it flowing and rhyming, and not sacrifice wording that makes sense.
This could make a cute children's book. Love the 'swiped the sour from pickles'. Your verses are just so imaginative. (taking away a baby's tickles).
The photographer caught Sawyer in one of those 'moments'. What a hoot. Hope he grows up with a sense of humor and an appreciative eye for poetry. :)

He had better grow up with a sense of humor in light of the photos his mom has taken and the poems his grandma has written. LOL Thanks so much, my friend :-) Brooke
