When I stayed with my wife, I did it because of the kids (4 boys), I felt they needed both of us there.
When I sacked the wife I did it because of the kids, I could honestly not justify staying and making them live with the constant destructive atmosphere with constant arguments.
However, I divorced my wife, not my children and we continued to parent them together, though apart.
They are all grown now, well-adjusted and hard-working.
The relationship between my ex and myself remains cordial and we still discuss things that affect any of the children and maintain a united approach.

Hi Tim, I am sorry for how it used to be for you and your wife but it sounds like you did the best thing for your kids.
I thank you so much for the kind words for "They Learn What They Live Poem." It is something that we can't teach our grandkids enough is how to show love and be respectful in all they do. I appreciate your thoughtful comments very much

Your words are so true. Most bullies learn their behavior from their parents. In most cases, you show love then they will. I like this poem. It is so needed now. Great job

A well taught valuable lesson to share with all children. This poem is like an affirmation hanging on the walls of home or school. You absolutely followed the 5-7-5 syllable writing prompt entry. Great job.

This is very apt as I have just had a discussion around this theme with a colleague. Kids learn faster from what they see than what they hear. Good parental example is the key to raising happy and successful children. Thanks for highlighting this. Well done, my friend, and good luck in the contest.

This 5-7-5, They Learn What We Live, has the proper formatting and reminds the parents that little eyes see much and will someday repeat what they see.

Oh yes, children will imitate what they see, unfortunately my parents fought like cat and dog, but my friends had parents who didn't, one can break the curse, beautifully written, good luck, blessings Roy

An excellent entry for the 5-7-5 writing prompt. This is so true and so easily seen in children these days. It is obvious to tell what the parents are like by watching the children. and in most cases it's not good. Let's pray that changes. thanks for sharing.
