Regardless of what happens to you, you are always so positive about life, Debi. You bring the sun out, to all here on Fanstory, and I'm sure the same applies to all your family and friends out there in the real world. I love your poem, you tell us about health issues like we would talk about our shopping lists, as if it is just one of those natural things in life. You're an incredible lady, my friend. Love and hugs. Sandra xxx

Oh Sandra, this may very well be one of the sweetest reviews ever. You are just the kindest friend and your thoughtful words meant so much. I kinda needed that extra smile tonight. Thank you again my very lovely friend.

It's all true, dear friend. I can't help but admire you. Love you lots. xxx

Debi...
It's nice to meet you (again)! What perfect timing for such a poem, given the advent of our recent connection/interaction.
I am honored by this glimpse into who you are and what you love my, "fun-loving, excitable, young at heart, bionic grandma in her seventh decade (think about it) who loves life, friends, and both of her families (including FS) and tends to procrastinate and run a bit late" new friend.
Thanks for sharing your poem... and your self with us--and with me. (Good grief, Curt! All she knows about you is your birthday. You must find a way to reciprocate.)
Blessings...

Curt, you are a ray of sunshine yourself. I can picture you with a big smile on your face all the time, because I not only smile reading your reviews, but I smile when writing my thank you. Thank you so much for your kindness my friend, as you are so very appreciated!I

Smiling is a good thing; for all of us. You are most welcome, Debi. For the record, I am enjoying our recent personal interactions. In my mind, you are morphing from a distant and revered icon in the FS pantheon of prize-winning poets to a real live human being with thoughts and feelings. This is a huge promotion in my book. Have a great weekend!

When I had my two leg and knee surgeries then the last few months so I may walk again, I got cards from Margaret, Helen, Sally and Karenina. And you wouldn't believe how seeing their hand writing affected me. It was like, OMGosh, they are real. I am touching something they touched and got to see a part of them that felt so real.So I know just what you mean about knowing it and seeing it first hand makes us feel a little more real. Thanks my dear awesome and real friend! Lol

Btw, I know you probably already know this, but I did join your contest. It was a lot of fun!

I love your enthusiasm in every line. As a matter of fact, that is your writing style. There is not one passive thing about it. That is a compliment, by the way. I like that every poem you write is like going to an amusement park and getting on a ride. This was full of optimism and the sense of adventure rang through. Great job. I have a challenge for you. Pick a boring chore or a boring setting and make it a signature DPM piece.

Thanks Gretchen,! I truly appreciate your lovely review and all your very kind words. You are truly a good friend and I am so thankful that I have gotten to know you so well. Lol, Ok, let me figure out what you are trying to tell me what to do. Do you want me to show that everything isn't always sunshine and happiness for me? Or do you want me to take it and show
gratitude for it? haha. I just want to be sure I understand, that's all. I know that you are just being helpful, so could you help me with that.
I thank you tho and will wait for your reply. : )
-
I just think you find joy in everything. That's a rare thing in most people. I honestly think it could inspire others to find joy and happiness in little things.
For example.
-
Thank you Gretchen.
If you ever read my poem called godfather, it might be easier to understand why I need that sunshine in my remaining years. Because that man stole my childhood away. I lived in constant terror because of him. A week in a mental institution and putting God first in my life helped me change all that.
Now I just try to find gratitude in everything. And you and other friends here are such a big part of that healing process. Thank you so much for that my dear friend!
-
I'm so sorry you went through that. I havent read your poem but am an advocate for neglected children. Children should change the future for good but some get damaged and lose hope. Hope you continue to heal. BTW, I love your joy in life. We need more. Gretchen

Best wishes for whatever recovery God wishes for you. Faith is the groundwater of miracles, ie: Lourdes, where people went thinking the pool was the secret, but it wasn't. Luv and kisses.

Tom, I remember hearing about that years ago. I believe the only place for miracles, is in a place that God lives, like in yours and my heart. Without the Spirit present it's only a luck of the draw. At least that is how I see it.
Y'know I've lived on the other side of happiness and joy, which left me with no childhood dreams. So now, I refuse to let anything destroy what time I have left here. It's friends like you that keeps so much of that joy going in me.
I will save a dance for you when we all meet on a cruise ship for a party given by Tom someday. You'll know me because I will be running late and yelling wait for me. Haha! And thanks for your kind words my dear friend.

I didn't realize that I was so far behind on thanking my reviewers. Yet I pray you're getting some sleep now. I just want to thank you for such a lovely review and kind words for this poem. Yet, I looked back and saw some missing syllables, so I think it's much better now. Also I can't thank you enough for the very gracious six stars, that meant a lot to me.

You are most welcome, sweet friend. I enjoyed your poem so much! Grandchildren are such a joy! I know you feel the same! Love and blessings, Sally xoxo's!!

Nicely written. Beautifully presented.
Perfect timing for "Crazy and Wild".
Just be sure that "throwing out all the rest" doesn't cost you something dear that will be needed when the grandbabies have less and less time for Grandma.
Best wishes.

Awe Wayne, I have missed you. It is so great to hear from you. Thanks for your very kind comments and review.
Actually my biggest procrastination is throwing things, that maybe usable later. But my last line in my poem was from something my mom used to say. She told me many times that when things get rough in life, always throw out the bad and keep all the rest. She was talking about getting rid of things that cause extra stress and keeping a good attitude through all too, because there is always something to be thankful for. She was a wise woman and school teacher who actually was the reason why Oprah Winfrey named, 'Acts of Kindness for teacher.' It was to honor her after a student wrote to Oprah about what a great teacher she was. My mom was dying of pancreatic cancer at only 60 at the time and couldn't attend, but her student did. It was a beautiful honor which she deserved.so this words guide me through all I do. Kinda like the serenity prayer. Thanks again my dear friend.

Yes, you have been blessed with those beautiful grandchildren. And it's fine if you feel like a child. I hope and wish you get to walk by Christmas. And thank you for sharing this great story. You have been through so much, and I wish you the best. Have a great week.

This is a very frank self - assessment of a writer.I liked the way you organised your thoughts.I liked the second line very much -true let others wait .The difference in font size-was it deliberate?

Hi Sanku! I just noticed that different size font and changed it right away.
But thank you anyway because I value that feedback. I'm glad you brought up the part where I said, yeah you just wait. That was supposed to be a joke. Yes, I am a bit of a procrastinator and used to be worse, but that line was supposed to be in defense like saying, you just wait, I'll show you! I'm not going to be this way anymore. So I think I should change it. But you liked it so not sure. But anyway thank you so very much for your kind review and words my friend. So very much appreciated!
-
I got that point too-'you just wait ,ill show you' .The two layered meaning appealed to me..Why should you change? I just wrote a poem about cats and why I like them .All my life I have changed for others!
I want to be your fan so that I ll get notice whenever you post
-
Please do so and I will do the same. Now you have me curious about your cat poem, and you know curiosity did? Oops sorry about that last comment. Lol, I just couldn't resist.

Good to see you again, and how wonderful if you can walk again by Christmas. That goal will be a strong motivator. So you are home again now?
Love the play on "iron-ic". I also love the family photo - it's so beautiful, and your happiness and joy show clearly.
Wendy
Typo: " Friends teased I'n (I'm) not on time"
"Not" doesn't need a capital in "I'm not an old-timer".

Yes Wendy, I got home yesterday. However I was writing a lot from the hospital, but many of mine were in blind contest. Thanks for catching my error and I capitalized not because I was emphasizing, yet I know most don't like that. I will change that after I get done here. Yes, three weeks gets to be long, but the last one was a month in July. I'm just so thankful. And to you my friend for the lovely words and valuable feedback. Much appreciated!

So glad surgery is behind you and you're on your way!

Oh Hon, you just made my night, my weekend, all next week! Thank you so much for the lovely words that mean everything to me, and of course your very gracious six stars!. I just got done posting and promoting and there you are like sunshine at midnight! Actually later, but later for you!
Did I tell you that I got home yesterday? Gosh, my bed sure missed me. Lol!
Therapy team waiting in driveway when we got home to get me in the house and transitioned to home. Thanks again my dear dear friend!

I'd just read that you were home in your reply to a review on another post -- Then, like magic, this poem posted! See? It was meant to be! Yay! You're home!
