If you think heart and soul is tuff on a piano teacher, Try having a class full of banjo students who want to learn to play Dueling Banjos.
Most of them will never play a recognizable copy of Dueling Banjos in their lifetime. I tell my students the best sound they will ever get out of their banjo is the clanking noise it makes when they throw it in the dumpster.

Ah-Ha! Now I know just what song to sing for you when we meet...LOL! No, seriously, I'd never heard of it and had to look it up on the internet...and the fact that you made it through a year of practices with that incessant %$^#$%@ ..... well, let's just say I now have a whole new level of respect for you as a teacher! ;) ;) A fun offering for the day, Lady Rachelle -- thank you for sharing! :) ;)

Well, it was only for the month of December, but it FELT like a year's worth of hearing it, I'll tell you that!!
Has it stayed with you since you listened to it? Two other reviewers who were unfamiliar with it and did what you did said that couldn't get it out of their mind now!
Thanks for the very fun review. xo

This is so funny! I love the "Safe Place Where No One Can Hurt Me". LoL! And you are so right about the many beautiful Jewish melodies. I fell in love with many tunes I was privileged to hear at the center as well as being introduced throughout life to the work of many famous Jewish composers! Cemented to the cabinet paper, eh? Haha!! I know what I'm getting you for Chanukah! Blahaha!!!

Now I have that sing ringing in my head. Ugh! It's too catchy and so annoying. LOL! Heart and Soul is echoing there too. Yikes!
...I made it out of clay...
Totally agree:
With all the gorgeous melodies my tribesmen have composed throughout the centuries, how this obnoxious little ditty ever came to be so universally recognized and sung, I cannot understand.
So many Hebrew songs are poignant and exquisitely, achingly beautiful. This one does not FIT!
The singing mug gift is a humorous closing note to this anecdote. Ha ha ha!
Love,

Another reviewer --Sandra Mitchell, who had to go online and check out the tune for the first time-- said the same thing: that now she can't get it out of her head. Welcome to my world.
There's even a duet that SOUNDS like it in a book I do with my advanced students at the end of each lesson, and I don't ever let anyone play THAT, either. A Jewish student and I discovered it quite by accident the first time we played from the book. We were about six measures in, looked at each other and said together, "The Dreydl Song!" and promptly stopped playing.
Anyway, thank you for the delightful review. I hope you recuperate soon. xo

Thanks, dear. It was out of my head but now it's back again reading your reply. Ha ha ha! May we all be cured permanently. Hee hee.

Hi Rachelle. I believe there are two things that are so important in nonfiction writing that make it readable and enjoyable. The first would be the experiences and events that prompt you to write the story and the second is your ability to write the story. Your ability to write these stories is superb. I know when I see one of your stories, I'm going to enjoy reading it. Robert

Hello Rachelle , Maybe after this you could call it the "dredded song"
But that would be wrong I guess lol
This lovely little girl at least got you a thank you and shows how well you are thought of , I must admit listening to some lyrics and passion in the voices of " jurusalem" for example is uplifting but some are downright boring espessally if you do not believe like me .
Ps I know it's spelt wrong but it won't correct and I am lost for trying.I love your approach on this one, well out in perspective . Kind regards Colin Xx

Thank you for the fun feedback, Colin. xo

I must go and Google that song. This is so funny, and then you have the lovely mug play your 'favourite' tune!!! LOL. That poor girl thinks she has given you a present you would love. I hope you can get the cement off if she comes for a visit!! This was a really funny story, Rachelle, and written so well. Now I'm off to Google it. :)) Sandra xxxx

I'll be eager to hear what you think of it. (But, to get the full enjoyment value, you'll want to listen to it for eight hours straight times four consecutive weeks...)

I am now humming it all the time! It's a catchy little tune. I watched two versions, one on a piano, which was how I could imagine you teaching it, and another being sung on UTube, yet the music sounded different in both. But I can quite see how you would soon get fed up with it after a seven and a half hours! LOL! Now I've got it on my brain!! :)) xx

Hahahaha, Rachelle. I love this little tale about your hate/love relationship to certain songs. I can follow you there. It's priceless how you your mug cemented to the shelf.
NEXT: Ensuring students learn what they are no longer allowed to have school: The Holiday Songs Challenge. = Do you mean 'to have in school' ?
All best. Ulla:)))

Great story like all the others you write. I didn't know what a dreydl was so I had to look it up.
I have also listened to the song and I quite like it, but I guess it's because it's the first time.
Thanks for making me smile.

Exactly, Maria! And you probably love matzoh, too, because you don't "have" to eat it and only it for your bread-substitute during Passover. Thank you for the wonderful review. I always enjoy hearing from you. xo
